How to be a Runescape Moderator

Following four steps can give you power in runescape!

A new server for runescape is being developed. Jagex are looking for a French-English translator to lead their mods in making a French server to encourage foreign players from France to join runescape, probably to make up for the loss of players after the trade updates. Thanks to, Otter for pointing this out to me.

This is a great chance to become a moderator – Not a cheat or a bad way, if you are chosen to be a moderator you must take it seriously.

When the new server is released jagex will need mods that are active on the server to look after it so if you’ve ever dreamed of being a moderator now is the time to act. Follow these simple steps and your dream will be for-filled.

Step One: Learning the Language

Learn to speak French as much as you can, learning words like

  • Hello (Bonjour)
  • Goodbye (Au revoir)
  • Trade (Commerce)
  • Follow (Suivre)
  • How (Comment)
  • Much (Beaucoup)
  • Who (Qui)
  • What (Que)
  • Where (Où)
  • When (Quand)
  • You (Vous)
  • I (Je)
  • French (Français)
  • Level (Niveau)
  • Skill (compétence
  • Am (Suis)
  • Are (Sont)
  • Is (Est)
  • Do (Faire)
  • Understand (Comprendre)

Will help you a lot when playing runescape. There are online translation sites which will help you learn these but they are not always reliable and can make you look like you have horrible grammar, kind of like someone in English saying something like “ heloeye wilk meeat yoo A the pooL kk”.

So I recommend you put more effort into learning the French language properly. I actually met up with a French person online and in exchange for teaching him about English he taught me some French. Luckily he already spoke very good English.

Step Two: Creating the Account

Start a new account and put the details “Age: (Any age over thirteen. Please do not register if you are under thirteen. As much as you may enjoy playing the game there are legal issues which forbid people under the age of thirteen from playing.)

Country: France

Username: Something French.

Password: I don’t know if jagex scan this or anything but I don’t think it matters where it is French or not.

Step Three: Playing the Game

Once you complete the tutorial is important to speak only French, for a few reasons.

  • Speaking only French will help you pick up the language.
  • You may meet other French people in game who could help you.
  • If Jagex choose you to be a mod but find that you have spoken only English they may get concerned and forget about it.

Remaining active is also important. If the account never logs in Jagex will think the owner has quit playing and probably won’t bother even letting it test the new French server before the accounts from other countries.

Obeying the rules is a big must if you wish to become a moderator. Moderators are only chosen if there is 0 black marks on their account, as soon as they get banned for even just three days they are stripped of their abilities.

Reporting players is also another thing which moderators need to do so get into this habit. I know this is kind of backstabbing, but if somone sends you a message like, “Someone just gave me a level 88 account!!” You should report them even if they are your closest friend.

More information on moderators can be found by clicking the “Find out about player moderators” link on the Runescape main page.

Step Four: The New Server

If you actually do get chosen to be a French Mod, this isn’t the time to brag to your friends. This is something you must take seriously and use to help Jagex gain more players. For example, you couldn’t just mute your friends for fun or mute people who annoy you as you will be stripped of your powers.

If you are not chosen to be a moderator, following this guide will still allow you to be one of the first players to test the new server.

This is not a way of tricking jagex, this is a way of helping jagex.
