How to be a Successful Pk’er in RuneScape: P2p and F2P
Becoming a good player killer in Runescape isn’t the easiest thing in the world, but a few tips can help.
PKing on Runescape takes skill. It’s as simple as that, and there isn’t any way to really “practice” PKing on Runescape, so acquiring this “skill” is rather difficult. Luckily, I have some simple tips on how to improve your performance before entering the dangerous world of Player versus Player.
The first and most obvious thing you need to know about pking is that you need a good weapon, good armor and some decent food. You’re going to want to wear the best armor possible, and the best weapon you can wield. before you ask; yes, there is very well a chance that you will die and lose this “stuff,” but hey, the saying goes – “No pain, no gain.” You need to wear the very best that you can to win. Bring lobsters if you’re a free player, and bring sharks if you are a member.
Another vital knowing about PKing is that there are pures out there. Some refer to these as skillers, one-skillers or specs. A pure is someone that devotes an entire Runescape account to leveling up one skill. A strength pure is the most common creation in Runescape, now-a-days, and it is vital to your PKing success that you stay as far away as you can from these strength pures. Depending on your combat level, these Pures can actually sometimes one-hit kill you. If you’re a member, a strength pure can easily destroy you in a few hits with a dragon dagger, an obsidian maul or even a granite maul. As a free player, you can identify a strength pure by the armor they wear and the weapon they carry. Most strength pures wear green dragonhide chaps, with an Iron platebody, platelegs and a full helmet. They are usually wielding a rune scimitar. Stay away from anyone that is a pure while PKing.
My last and most important tip is to appropriately chose your opponent. While PKing on a PvP world, you have a range of levels that you are able to fight shown on the bottom right hand of your Runescape client’s screen. This range of numbers informs you on which levels you can possibly fight. For example, a level 96 can fight anyone from a combat level 81 to a combat level 111. As you can already guess, if you were this level 96, you’re going to want to fight people either the same combat level as you or lower, and stay away from anyone higher, because if someone is one combat level above you, thats the difference of three stat level ups.
Be careful while PKing in Runescape, because there is a very high chance that you will die and lose everything. Its happened before, and it can easily happen again.
