How to Get 99 Cooking in F2P (Nonmember) RuneScape
Here’s a guide of what I believe is the fastest/cheapest way to get 99 cooking in F2P RS.
You want to be a cook, eh? Cooking is probably the easiest skill in Runescape to level, and it’s ridiculously cheap, too. Here’s your rough guideline for cooking, generally cheap and fast too.
Levels 1-20: Just do random stuff. Pick up meat off the ground, kill chickens or whatnot, go fishing, do whatever that nets you stuff you can cook. This should be a piece of cake. Do Cook’s Assistant Quest which you can find a guide to here. Just do something that will get you to level 20. Easy, right?
Levels 20-55:
This is a trout.

This is a salmon.
Cook these until around level 55/60. You can find free raw trout and salmon in the Barbarian Village fishing spot. Fishers are eager to get rid of their raw fish (believe me, I did lv 30-92 fishing there, find a guide here), and your best bet is World 1. Or you could just worldhop to find somewhere less crowded. But either way, cut down a tree nearby and light a fire with it (find guides here and here). Now say stuff like “accepting raws!” and if you’re lucky fishers will give you their raw fish. Cook trout and just like drop salmon till you can cook salmon, then cook both simultaneously until you reach level 55 or 60.
Levels 55-99:
Ah, this is the biggie. You can cook either tuna or lobster or swordfish, depending on your tastes and the money you have to waste on this stuff. Now you stop burning tuna at around 63/64. I recommend cooking tuna until 99, as you can just really afk while your tuna is cooking. Cut lots of logs or something, or buy maple logs for firemaking, and go to the GE. Withdraw 1 tinderbox, 1 log, and the rest raw tuna/fish. Now make your fire, cook, and repeat. TADA.
…
…
And eventually you get 99 cooking. Pretty boring process, yeah, but you just suffer through it like a man, you know?
Anyway, once you hit 99, become a member and get that skillcape for 99k from the master of the cooking guild!
