How to Get Rid of RuneScape Lags, Browser Freezes, Rpg Lags and Get an Overall Better Browsing Experience

Tired of getting logged out of the game for just getting a random event?, Tired of getting killed while fighting On any rpg?, Fed up with not even being able to move properly on that *bad word* browser of yours?, Want to get rid of IT!?!?

NThis is both suitable for IE and Firefox. Each browser has different ways of deleting lag. Please pay close attention to the following steps and try to comprehend them.

If you are most comfortable using firefox, please follow the steps below in order to get rid of lags on runescape while using a firefox web browser.

Step 1:

When you first start up firefox go to the tools section, select add-ons and at the top right corner you should see a link saying “Browse All Add-ons”. Click it and it should open up a new tab showing the firefox add-on downloads section. All this work can be avoided if when you first go to the add-ons tab, scroll down and if you see a add-on called adblock plus, install it and your all set to go. If not then please continue with the instrcutions below.

Step 2:

Once on the firefox add-on page, you should see a search bar. Click on the search bar and type in “ad block plus” which should be at the very top of the list and after installing it make sure you go to firefox, tools, add-ons, and then click the options section of adblock plus and choose to subcribe to one of the filter lists and i’d recommend fanboy’s and standard english list for the best browsing experience :) . It will block all the banners and ads that you often find while playing runescape, so you will basically be like a f2p member or ultra member =D.

Internet Explorer

If you use IE you will find that it is best for preventing lags and it is very simple.

Step 1:

Go to the tools section at the very top of the browser and from the list select internet options. Once you have done that a menu should pop up, go to the advanced section of that menu and scroll down till you find the multimedia section and uncheck all the checked boxes.

Step 2:

Refresh your browser; go to the runescape homepage to find that no pictures will show up or ads. To reverse this go back and do the opposite of all the things you did to the advanced section of the internet options menu.

Now other than this you could go to and download the program, after which when you  return to ie go to the tools tab and click ie7pro prefrences and there under modules click adblocker and press okay and you’ll be all set :)

Now for an even better perfomance and this tip i discovered from one of my very helpful commenters below is that in order to have any application run more smoothly without putting risk to your system is by going to the task manager on windows by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE or right clicking on the taskbar and choosing task manager and then going to processes and choose the process you want to run with a higher performance such as firefox or java then right click on it, choose priority and set it above normal and it’ll tell you that it might cause system instibality but trust me its fine :) , thanks again for the great tip!, hope this helped you guys and good luck on your adfree browsing!

Fact .

The main causes of lags on runescape are the media on the website, advertisement and pictures.

If this method does not work try pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE,it opens a something called “Windows Task Manager”,now click on the Applications, next, hover your mouse over to find RuneScape in that tab, then right click it and click “Go to Processes and set the priority to Above Normal.Do not set it to high because if you do RuneScape will clearly run faster, but your now your computer system runs slowly(computer’s response time goes longer, and your mouse cursor is busy all the time etc…)so I would highly recommend setting it to Above Normal only, after that something pops up telling you that the balance of your system will be affected,no worries it’s safe.Just click OK.

If it still lags really bad try going to the “Processes Tab” on Windows Task Manager and find “java.exe” on it, and as before, hover your mouse cursor over it,right click, then set the priority to “Above Normal”.

Now, you should be able to notice the differences when playing RuneScape.

yerh definently lag is due to old computers or your internet connection,
but still close all unessasery programs in task manager set java and the internet explorer program your using to high, and it could be your virus protection that takes up alot of the systems memory so un-install it or if you can disable it when your playing runescape do that, what else…hmmm set your programs have higher priority than system programs in settings on my computer then advanced settings tab then performance change it to program files..few other tweeks like that can fasten up your computer with exe.’s and get a good registry cleaning up registry mechanic. yerh
