How to Get Rid of Runescape Lags
Tired of getting logged out of the game for just getting a random event? Tired of getting killed while desperately trying to live? Want it all to stop?!
This is both suitable for IE and Firefox. Each browser has different ways of deleting lag. Please pay close attention to the following steps and try to comprehend them.
Firefox
If you are most comfortable using firefox, please follow the steps below in order to get rid of lags on runescape while using a firefox web browser.
Step 1:
When you first start up firefox go to the tools section, select add-ons and at the top right corner you should see a link saying “Browse All Add-ons”. Click it and it should open up a new tab showing the firefox add-on downloads section. All this work can be avoided if when you first go to the add-ons tab, scroll down and if you see a add-on called adblock plus, install it and your all set to go. If not then please continue with the instrcutions below.
Step 2:
Once on the firefox add-on page, you should see a search bar. Click on the search bar and type in “ad block plus” which should be at the very top of the list. It will block all the banners and ads that you often find while playing runescape, so you will basically be like a f2p member or ultra member =D.
Internet Explorer
If you use IE you will find that it is best for preventing lags and it is very simple.
Step 1:
Go to the tools section at the very top of the browser and from the list select internet options. Once you have done that a menu should pop up, go to the advanced section of that menu and scroll down till you find the multimedia section and uncheck all the checked boxes.
Step 2:
Refresh your browser; go to the runescape homepage to find that no pictures will show up or ads. To reverse this go back and do the opposite of all the things you did to the advanced section of the internet options menu.
Fact .
The main causes of lags on runescape are the media on the website, advertisement and pictures.

dude i did what you said for IE, the picutres get blocked but ads are still on and causing laggs.
I have to update this guide, please sorry for the inconvenience, its because of the graphics update. I have to completely rework this, my sincerest apologies. any tips on preventing the soul wars lags at begining of each game everyone is rushing into blue or red:P thats only time i notice lag on runescape

RRRRAAAAHHHH!!! Dx I’ve tried everything!!! My computer is such a peice of crap! ;w; I’ve tried messing with the vitual memory, downloading a client, deleteing all of my files, unchecking everything in Internet Options, and messing with the Graphics card, IT’S ALWAYS LAGGING! T___T FFFF…someone please tell me there’s some sort of program that beats the crap out of bad computers and lets me play RuneScape to my hearts content, lag-free?
