How to Keep Your Runescape Account Safe

Five easy steps to ensure that when you log into your Runescape account, it’s where you left it last. Never get hacked again.

There are many vital steps that you should take, as a user and player of your account, to ensure that you are the only one using and playing it. By doing so, you can guarantee that no one else can cause harm or damage to your character. Ways to protect your account include:

  1. Setting a Password

  2. This involves the creation of not only a password, but a sophisticated yet able to be remembered. This password is the first line of defence from someone simply guessing passwords to your account.

Good ideas for a password would include; incorporating numbers and letters. Such as 23word15. This will ensure that your password is nearly impossible for people to guess!

  3. Do Not Share Information

  4. Keep all the information about you, your character or anything confidential. Meaning never tell anyone anything about you, which may jeopardise and put your account in danger. Even while engaged in conversation with someone who may seem friendly, such as while woodcutting, you may be accompanied by a person several times you long on. And they be friend you with a deep intention to steal your character. He may ask questions to make you give away your password or ask personal questions and attempt to guess it.

  5. Do Not Access RuneScape in Public Areas

  6. Public areas are as the name suggests, public. By playing RuneScape or simply checking up on forums, you may leave your self-open to someone peering over your shoulder while you enter your password. Or, even worse, have your password recorded by malicious programs located on the computers, placed by a previous person to steal details.

  7. Set Recovery Questions + Bank Pin

  8. Jagex has repeatedly told you so, and if you haven’t, you better get right to it! Security questions allow you to reset your password, even if someone has entered and change it. Even if your account has been intruded, you still have a chance at getting it back (or what’s left of it!).

Also the bank pin disallows any access to all your valuables and money locked inside your bank. So even if in the worse scenario your hacker has dropped absolutely everything. You still have your bank intact, with all your necessities inside.

  9. Storing everything Safely

  10. Last but not least, the final key to keeping your account safe. Storing everything related to your character or account safe. Not leaving passwords, secret answers or bank pins lying around on tables, rooms. By keeping it in a place where no one can find, you are also safe from your siblings, parents and friends.

So there, the 5 steps to keeping your RuneScape account YOURS. Simple, easy and with the investment of a little time and effort, you can guarantee that your account is there to last just the way you left it when you logged out.
