How to Never Get Bored While Skilling in RuneScape!

Yes, there are ways to not get bored on runescape!

Runescape can easily get boring to ton’s of people. The scenario goes as is: You train and get strong enough to make it towards better stuff ( new quests, abilities/ skill levles, weapons and armor, etc).

I like to think of runescape as a challenge, the ultimate test in terms of patience and perserverance.

It’s the grinding aspect of it that gets many people bored so quickly. Here’s a few ways on how to solve this:

  • The key aspect of this is simple: multi-tasking! It’s not to say that bots will help in skilling though (Boting is forbidden in runescape so don’t try it!). Simply just do something that keeps you entertained at your computer and after every few seconds or so, just check to make sure your character is still training. Skills this mostly works for is: Fishing, Fletching, Smithing, Woodcutting, Mining (when at the rune essence sites), Maging, and Ranging (best done at the Ardougne range training area north of Ardougne (must have completed Plague city quest). Maging can be done at the Ardougne zoo or if your a nonmember, at the stronghold of security’s first floor (theirs a fence there that you can use to range behind also).
  • note: when doing this, it’s best you train in areas with very little or even no people, because when training you can experience people wanting to ask you something or even begin to suspect that your boting.

Example: While fishing you can be watching youtube video, homework, be on other sites, or house work and then after your character gets a full inventory of fish, you bank or cook them then bank. Afterwards, repeat the process!

  • Another way to have fun in runescape is to NOT focus on training a certain skill for a while (everyone wants at least one 99 skill!); however, this does lead to “balanced” accounts yet you’ll never get bored doing it this way. I tend to get bored of training a skill after so much time on it so I quit and take a break doing something else for a change.
  • One good method I found is to join a clan in runescape, you’ll always be occupied, even if your skilling or fighting unless the clan is not to your liking.

If you feel that this hasn’t improved your runescape experience, feel free to comment! also (if your a member or super high level non member) you can post in the runescape forums! hopefully you spark some change in runescape! Jagex wants to hear from it’s players to help in shaping its future!

Great guide, if you have played long enough, like me, you have figured that out..Still, I think it will be very helpful to people who are just starting.

Great tips. A good one when I used to play Runescape is chatting with people on your friends list while skilling =)

With the level grinding, if you have to do it too much people get board, but if you can level up easily then everyone will get 99 in all skills and the game will be boring again. So I suppose the level grinding has to be there…
