How to Train on Moss Giants in RuneScape
This is a guide that explains a very simple way to train your levels on the Moss Giants in RuneScape. This guide is made entirely from an f2p perspective.
The very first thing you need to do is choose a world. This is very important because although the Moss Giants I will be talking about are multi-combat, it can be annoying when there are others who are taking all the xp. Try to choose a world with few players but even then they are sometimes crowded, so it usually best just to do what you can until they leave.
There are two places where the moss giants spawn in Runescape. One place is on Crandor, but since this is far from a bank and because you need to have started the Dragon Slayer quest to access this place, I will be talking about the other place. The other place is at the end of the Varrock sewers which can be accessed from the manhole just to the east of the Varrock palace which is just north of the Varrock town square. Before you go down however, you need to bank. The closest bank is accessed be just following the path by the sewer south. However, the Grand Exchange is just a bit further if you go to the west. Here are some things you will want to bring along from your bank: ALL low level players and even some higher level players will want to bring food if they will be using melee. You won’t know exactly how much you will want until you get used to seeing how much damage they will deal you and how much room you want for drops. There are safe places to range (or mage) from so food is optional if you will be using those means of combat but sometimes it is useful to have a bit just in case. The other things you will want to bring are all your best armor and weapons. Bring all your best stuff because it is not hard to run away if for some reason you start dying so it is not likely you will lose it.
Now that we’re geared up, we head to the Mossies. Just go to the manhole and head through the middle of the three passages at the beginning and go all the way to the end. There are two Mossies here. If you are using melee, the next step is simple. Fight. For rangers and magers, there is only one extra detail, and that is that the protected spots are: behind the skeleton in the northwest corner for the giant that spawns in the north, and next to the cauldron full of green stuff for the giant that spawns in the south.
Now for the loot. Depending on why you’re here, you will keep and ignore different things. If you want to make some cash, keep everything and don’t bury the big bones. Then, when your inventory is full, you go and sell everything (or just put it in you bank and sell it later). If you are only training you levels, bury the bones (for prayer) and ignore the drops so you can stay there longer (for faster xp). A hybrid way of combining these two options would be to bury the bones but keep the other things to sell.
That’s about it. The process is pretty simple: Get your gear, go to the Mossies, fight, when your inventory is full of whatever you are keeping, go bank them, repeat.
Thanks for reading and good luck!
