Level Three Infestation: Why?
There are increasingly more level three macroers appearing on the free worlds of Runescape each day: Read this and do your part!
As many have noticed and as many more have complained about, the free playing world of Runescape is infested with level three players. These are not your everyday noobie level three’s: These are cheating macroers. You can usually spot them easily because they are wearing standard clothes, are bald, and have names like djx383.
These macroers are out there for one reason: to make money by cheating. They are usually located in China or another Asian country, on some computer in a sweatshop, running off a script. A company will produce near-flawless scripts to make their cheating work. These scripts, in turn, harvest materials for hours off of the game of Runescape, then sell them to other cheating players.
Nowadays you can never go on a F2P world without seeing several level 3’s while walking places. This is because the relationship between the macroer and the real world item trader is exactly like a supply-demand one. As long as there are people on Runescape wishing to get ahead by buying money for real world money, there will continue to be macroers.
Since it is becoming increasingly hard for Jagex to identify these near flawless macroers, Jagex has turned to the much easier task of finding who is real world item trading. Thus, without a demand, there will be little or no supply.
Hot areas to macro in are mining, woodcutting, and fishing. They are the skills that require you to sit there and click, but little else. When you see suspicious macroing activity, report it immediately. This helps Jagex figure out and ban who is macroing.
Another thing you can do to help the problem is to not buy from level three’s. This will make it harder for them to acquire money for their items and will slow down the whole process (hopefully one day stopping it).
Personally, I am sick of this level three infestation. So, do what you can and report or boycott their actions. I hope I have enlightened you.

i wholeheartedly agree, and it also disgusts me that there are people out there who macro and don’t think they are breaking a rule; to them, macroing is like drop trading. In their minds it is an unenforced rule. I am also disgusted at the low interest level of honest players to report these macroers. Furthermore, I am surprised Jagex has not realized that their rule about reporting 1 person every minute deters those who want macroing to end. Also, I noticed that some macroers, when attacked by, say, a mugger, retaliate one or two times and then run away. Maybe this is why there are level 4 macroers?
I agree with your comment 100%. When i see a macroer, i report them! it only takes a second and everybody should do it. It will result in a much cleaner and healthier game. the problem is that where is there is 1 macroer, there are most likely 7 more. there is no way to efficiently report all of them, so there needs to be a way to change that. it could be jagex’s way of encouraging one to be a member so you dont get the level 3’s, but the market is screwed nonetheless.
i agree 100% too.they get in the way when you are woodcuttin or mineing and tho’s are the things i do all the time and im sick of them in the way all the time when i see them i report them..they need to get rid of them things come on really who is really that lazy?….peace and love…guitars 4 life^_^
there are some preety sucluted mines in the willderness that macroeers go to on rare ecations. I dont know if im actually helping, but killing them is fun.

I agree 100% as well. I think macros need to stop, and I don’t think Jagex is doing enough to stop it. I’ve been sending complaints with ideas to help non-stop and I think that Jagex needs to just read some of them to help stop macros. I wish that macros never existed, but then again who doesn’t other than the pitiful people who do macro…

the only way to defeat the macroers is to form macro hunting gangs.
we can all help by reporting the macroers and getting them banned, but if you go to the secound lvl of the lumby castle tower thing (the northern one) then you will see that on ever world there are 1-10 lvl 3s with unusual names stood there. are these just other macroers, created, but there isnt enough computers to run them, so when a macro is banned then can suddenly start playing again? i know what the majoriy of people are answering. YES
just ban those people’s ip address from accessing the runescape website it is easy. jagex can do that.
Yes people, we all know that macroeing is VERY annoying. I would highly encourage players to report every macroer they see. Why don’t y’all people spend a bit of time and send a message complaining and a suggestion. I would be SO HAPPY if the macroers JUST STOP macroeing!!! Simple as that. Thank you.
Hey, i loved your guide, but I don’t exactly understand what these guys do. Do they trade RuneScape items for real money?
