Maplestory Merchanting Guide

Maplestory, like any other MMORPG, is a lot more enjoyable if you have a large amount of money to spend. Most guides I’ve read make you stupid things, like pick up everything you see and sell it to NPC’s. Well seeing that there aren’t many good guides out there, I’ve decided to make one myself.

There are many more ways to making money than merchanting, but merchanting is one of the best ways.

Now you may say,”isn’t merchanting just getting a few items and selling it”. Well your absolutely wrong! Merchanting can be both easy or hard depending on your luck!

How to merchant?-

First of all, you either need a store permit (buy with NX cash), or make a free basil market account.

Now all you need is items to sell. If you don’t have any money at all, you can just do a few quests and try your best to get at least 3-4 million. That is because then you’ll have enough funds to get more items that have a tendency to sell more. If your really struggling to get that money, then you should get a 10 dollar NX game card and purchase gachapon tickets, that can get you up to 30 million easily.

Once you have 3-4 million, the first step is to buy a steely. A steely is a very popular throwing star. Try all you can to buy one for under 4 million. Then sell it for 4.5 million+.

“How do I sell it”, you would probably say. No problem I’ll tell you how to sell.

If you are using a store permit, then try to get a spot in FM 1-10. If you are using basil market, then just add it to your auction and post it for at least 3 days to get more bids. Once your steely is sold, you’ve made your first profit.

Now keep on merchanting steely until you have at least 25 million. Then it’s time to get ilbis. Try to buy them for under 15 million and sell for over.

Keep on merchanting ilbis until you hit 80 million. Now it’s time to make a decision. You can either get a clean white work glove and 7 60% glove attack scrolls. Then scroll them to test your luck. If you manage to get at least 8 attack, you should get around 15 million profit. If you get 10 attack, you can get up to a 25+ million profit.

If you don’t like to take the risk of scrolling. I recommend you start merchanting crystal ilbis. Try to get one for under 80 million and sell for 80+.

Keep on merchanting until you have 150 million. Now you can merchant anything you did in the past. Plus, you can also try scrolls a sauna robe with 10 overall Dex scrolls and make a huge profit. Or you can merchant zakum helms or pink capes.

I can’t really tell you the price of zakum helms and pink capes because the prices change very often and it all depends on the stats. But after you get to 150 million you should now know how to merchant and become a master!

Question: Why not merchant storm caster gloves?

Answer: They are very expensive so sudden price change can make you lose tens of millions.

Question: Why don’t you just earn money off gachas.

Answer: Do it if you can afford it.

Question: What’s better, store permits or basil market?

Answer: I would suggest basil market because, first of all it’s free, everyone on your server can see it, and you don’t need to keep your guy logged on all the time.

Question: Are those the only things I can merchant?

Answer:  No, but they are rather easy.
