Merchant Clans and How to Deal with Them

To start this hole thing off i need to tell you that some merchant clans are a scam although they do have some very good tips and some aren’t even after your password or your account it sometimes happens. There are groups out there that claim that “we can earn you 1mil + in an hour” this is a scam and Jagex has started to notice a growing problem most of these clans say that “if you can give us your ____ (rare item usually) we can almost guarantee that you will get a ton of gold for it” this is a scam to get rare items off of people.

The best trick to deal with merchant clans is to ignore the person that is advertising it and report them for spamming. I have not 100% confirmed this but i think they have found a way to auto advertise on the site and Jagex is currently working on ways to block this issue.

However there have been secret improvements made to the game that hinder merchant clans they originally said you can only buy so many of 1 item in a set amount of time there would be clans saying buy a bunch of rune full helms then a bunch of rune plates then the legs then a weapon of some kind now they are saying that rarer items you cannot buy more than 300 of any rare item. If for some reason you find the need to that amount of a rare item you must wait at least 4 hours before purchasing another item.

Although not all merchant clans are bad and some are really trying to help, they are starting to be limited on exactly what they can do.
