Range Slaying (Waterfiends)
Guide to Slaying Waterfiends for a slayer task.

Hi, many of your don’t know me, that’s because I’m new here. I have decided to make Runescape Slaying guide for rangers. I have personally killed over 500 waterfiends with range. I am currently 94 Range, i use ranging potions every time i range, i pot back up at lvl 99 range.
I never though that i could have kill waterfiends with range until i saw my friend doing it, he still had some problems with it so i tweaked bit of it and now i have a prefect set up for me to use. ill be showing you that set up.
Waterfiends, like most other monsters, would be aggressive to your for the first 10-15 minutes. they cant be safespotted for that time, but after that they are easily safespotted. For this reason i do NOT highly recommend using void armour as it has very little defensive bonus, instead i recommend Black D’Hide armor or higher.
Bringing the best range gear you have would be the ideal set up, but if your fairly high (95+) on defense and magic stats than it might be better to use it, but i still struggle with it even on 99 defense with a unicorn. now for the Gear, im going to be listing the armor that i use and a cheaper option.
Headwear: Armadyl Helmet - Robin Hood - Saradomin,Guthix,Zamorak Coif
Necklace: Fury Amulet - Ranging Amulet - Glory Amulet - Power Amulet
Cape: Ava’s Accumulator
Weapon: Rune Crossbow - I don’t recommend ranging theses under 61 Range.
Glove: “Dark” Glove - ”Dragon” Gloves - Black D’hide Vambraces
Boots: Ranger Boots - SnakeSkin Boots - Infinity Boots - Jester Boots
Ring: Archer Ring - Ring of Life/Ring of Wealth - Lucky ring
Body-wear: Armadyl Chestplate - Karils Leathertop - Black Dragonhide body
Legwear: Armadyl Plateskirt - Karils Leatherskirt - Black Dragonhide Chaps
Shield Slot: Holy Book (range bonus) - any other shield
The high range attack bonus is to attack the Waterfiend’s massive defensive.
Now i will be showing and explaining my inventory.
I bring 6 Ranging Potions (4), 2 Prayer potions (4), 8 Sharks, Slayer Gem, a few House Teleports, and a Games necklace/Draman Staff/Lunar Staff.
Explanation
Ranging Potions: Hits more often on Waterfiend’s massive defence
Prayer Potions: For the first 10-15 Minutes of the trip, while they are aggressive.
Sharks: For the first 10-15 Minutes of the trip, while they are aggressive.
Slayer Gem: Tells me how much i need till the task is over.
House Teleports: Teleports out of the cavern.
Games necklace/Draman Staff/Lunar Staff: To get into the cavern.
Statistics
In 1 hour i can kill about 60 waterfiends.
In 1 hour i can get about 30,240 range experience
In 1 hour i can get about 7,680 slayer experience

Q: I’m confused; Waterfiends have ranged attacks, Mage and Range, so wouldn’t that mean that they’ll be able to hit you even when you’re standing in a “safespot”? Am I missing something?
A: They cant shoot over for some reason, i think it has something to do with the range (how far) of their mage, and ranged attacks.

there no point to range em, just melee em with bunyip u will last longer!!!!!!!!!!
spac3d out, if u have read my guide you will noticed that your only need to get hit for less than 15 minutes, after that time you are able to safe spot the waterfiends, thus making you safe for its attacks. ive stayed here for about 300 crimson charms with 3k broad bolts..
well thats 15mins of dieing that u gotta be able to survive and since u got 99 def and a unicorn makes u more likely to survive, but any1 with less will definately die because i said u almost died…
