Rsbuddy: The Future of RuneScape Botting!

 ~ Introduction ~

How I found RSBuddy:

While using a bot called RSBot for many years, and even developing scripts for it, one of the main developers of the bot known as “Jacmob” left to go create his own.  Several great Java programmers also contributing to RSBot (Arbiter, Blackbone, NoEffex, etc) followed to help with this new client.  Jacmob was such a good developer for RSBot, I knew that no other programmer that followed in his footsteps could do a good as job as he did.  So, I was waiting for a new bot, not knowing when or where it was going to be located.  Suddenly, RSBuddy showed up on Powerbot discussion forums. I immediately signed up and downloaded the client API so I could start converting RSBot scripts.  And the journey began…

Description:

RSBuddy.com is a lot like RSBot at the moment, because most of the RSBuddy client has been reused from the RSBot client.  However, RSBuddy has been given a new design and has a black frame.  It has the same account system, script selector and output box.  For developers – This bot has an altered API where all the classes are static and new names have been given to wrapper classes and accessors.  The bot code itself is closed source however, but will disable anyone from stealing RSBuddy’s source code to make their own bot.  Jacmob and Arbiter have claimed that they will always update the bot as fast as they can to remain the best bot for RuneScape cheating.

New Features:

Compared to RSBot, RSBuddy has a new extensive application to the internet. 

 - Script Authentication System - 

Jacmob has been working on an amazing script authentication system while he was still at RSBot, but he decided to take it here!

How it works -

Once users create an account on RSBuddy.com, they can navigate to scripts.rsbuddy.com to add scripts to their user account.  

When running RSBuddy, users can login to their account from the Script Selector which will then load their added scripts.

For Developers: Have you been waiting for a absolutely secure way to distribute your paid scripts?  Now there is a way! Script writers will soon be able to upload their scripts, to be automatically obfuscated, compiled and put up into the paid script section at scripts.rsbuddy.com for users to find!

The Big Problem with RSBot:

During the early days of February 2011, thousands of accounts were hacked by someone known as an infamous hacker named gh0st.  2 weeks before the release of free trade, he found a flaw in Powerbot’s security and was able to upload a modified version of RSBot which then was used to steal account information. The main reason why this was possible is because Powerbot is open source and insecure. Gh0st was able to make a copy and add in his account logger.  RSBuddy naturally can avoid problems like this because Jacmob has closed the source of RSBuddy, just another reason why RSBuddy will soon be the best.
