Runescape 1-99 Woodcutting Guide: F2p and P2p

One section for F2P and the other for P2P.

  1. Okay, we shall start with a guide for a free, non-paying, player. Members, read the 1-30 part of this guide, and then scroll down to the members section.
  2. Okay, first off, you should go to the area around the Lumbridge General Store.
  3. Now, when you start off, you receive an axe. Bronze to be precise. Now, equip that axe, or now called hatchet, and hack away at regular logs from 1-15 woodcutting. This step is easy, as there are regular trees located all over the Runescape world! You can bank these logs for firemaking, firemake it on the spot, or sell it to a general store. Regular trees die away after one single log. The spawn is quite fast though. Moving on!
  4. From 15-30 woodcutting, you will be cutting oak logs. Oak trees can be found all over Runescape, just like regular logs. As you may wish to do, you can firemake them, bank them, or sell them to a general store for a low price. Members, scroll down from here.
  5. This gets partially boring. From 30-60, you will be cutting willows! Yay… You can find these near rivers usually. Such as Draynor Village, Lumbridge River, Rimmington, and more! These logs are the cheapest of all logs, even cheaper than an oak log or regular log! Why? Well, willows are used to “powercut”, or to raise experience in Woodcutting the fastest way possible. Anyways, this part may get a little bit harder. Remember, set your goals a little bit at a time, do not aim for 65 as soon as you hit 30, this will be very discouraging to you. Aim for goals like 35, 40, or multiples of 5 that is.
  6. Good job! I can’t believe you made the adventurous *cough*not*cough* trip to 60 woodcutting! Now, this is where money will be rolling in for you if you choose. You may continue with willows all the way to 99 woodcutting, as that is the fastest method, but for money, go to the G.E, otherwise known as the Grand Exchange. If you venture slightly west when you are in the Grand Exchange, you will find three yew logs. There are many spawns for yews, but this is considered the best for the quantity, and closeness to bank. Other areas are Falador, Edgeville, and Rimmington. Yews are not the best way for 99 woodcutting, but if you do choose to get 99 woodcutting through this method, you will be very rich.

Now, this is the section for members! Yay members. Remember, support Jagex by subscribing for RuneScape or FunOrb membership!

  1. Follow steps 3-4 for free to play.
  2. Now, you have achieved 30 woodcutting. From 30-45 woodcutting, you must cut willows. Yes, this is boring, but it is fast.
  3. This is going to be the fastest way to 99 woodcutting for you members out there. 45-99 woodcutting is what you should be aiming for… Cut maples all the way! If you wish to, cut maples 45-61 woodcutting, and buy a dragon axe and begin to cut Yew Trees.
  4. Now, get the woodcutting cape!
  5. Cut Yews at 60 and Magics at 80 for money! Yes, these are above the required levels, but it is for your benefit. You will literally “die” before cutting down a whole inventory of logs at the bare minimum level. However, when you do get to those levels, you will be rolling in money. Yews are somewhat stable, staying at a price around 500 GP per log. Magics are stable too, being 900-1100 GP per log.

when cutting normal trees from levels 1-15, sell them in the G.E. for a lot more money(I think) than at a general store-my woodcutting level is now 64 and i have been cutting yews since i got to level 60 and i have been rolling in lots of cash

  8. Just a few tips
    Posted July 30, 2009 at 7:07 am

You should cut oaks to 60 wcing for some cash if you want, because it’ll take ages for you to cut willows. Then cut willows to 70-80 woodcutting, because if you cut yews it will take forever. If your mem, the cut yews to like 90-95 wc and cut magics to the rest. Do not sell the willows, because noone ever buys them. Just save them up for fletching or firemaking. And sell the other logs. I garantee you’ll make tons of money.

    dude…
i\’m 90 wc.. and even for me is cutting magics very slow…
there are times when it goes a little bit faster… but most of the time i\’m cutting really long for like what 2 logs?
yews goes okay… but not saying its fast… ivy\’s goes also okay…
    so i suggest 90-99 ivys

if you start cutting yews or magics at the level required they are very very very slow. what you would want to do if you want it faster with plenty of money:maples to 65 or 70 if you want faster xp, yews to 80 or 85 if you want faster xp, I highly suggest that, if you can, you plant a magic tree in gnome village and cut magics there…or, get 75 farming and 80 summoning (i think) for a hydra. plant a magic tree somewhere, make or buy a few hydra pouches and alot of hydra scrolls, cut the magic tree and the hydra scroll special regrows your planted tree instantly. that is the best way but rather time consuming if you do not have the skills already

    Posted June 29, 2010 at 6:25 am

dude, got ivy from 75-99 it’s the fastest way to get 99 woodcutting, you don’t make any money off them… ivy is 325 exp per chop

  27. Is this updated lately?
    Posted June 30, 2010 at 10:38 pm

At 75 wc don’t cut magics, go cut choking ivy. It is like 332.5 XP per ivy and you don’t have to drop because it doesnt add to invent. Good way for fast xp but for money i recommend yews at 70 up. I find maples still take forever.

  28. Posted September 18, 2010 at 3:50 pm

  29. Posted September 22, 2010 at 7:54 pm

this would be my guide to lvl 99 wc:

    1-21 trees
    21-35 oaks

    This guide is shit!!!!

Here is my guide to 99 for f2p (not including wc island)

    1-20 Normal trees

    20- 35 oak logs

    35- 75/99 willow logs

    75-99 yews

i recommend going for 99 using willows, but if you need cash use yews.

  33. Jason
    Posted December 2, 2010 at 11:45 pm

First off, here is a better guide. Start off 1-15 normals then, 15-30 is oaks(keep the logs for a lil cash) 30-60 for f2p (memb is 30-60) 60-68 maples(memb only) 68-99 ivy(memb only) f2p go willows all the way from 30

    Posted December 18, 2010 at 11:49 pm

    Normal logs: 1-25

    Oak logs: 25-40

    Willow logs: 40-60

    Maple/Willow logs: 60-75

    Yew logs: 75-92

    Magic/Yew logs: 92-99

Best guide ever, I’m telling you. You will have loads of cash, and its a simple guide. Trust me, i have 97 woodcutting. I know its not 99 but its almost there. ;]
Wish me luck, hope this helps.

lol oaks and willows are ok to cut at the min lvl
    normal logs: 1-15
    Oak logs: 15-30
    Willow logs: 30-60 (p2p) 75/99(f2p)
    (p2p) maples 60-70
    (p2p) ivy/yews 70-99 Dragon hatchet
    (p2p) Magics 90-99
    (f2p) yews 75-99

willows get you the most exp per hour if u bank them and cut
i would know i have 83 wc right now you get around 50k an hour, and with maples even at 83 with d hatchet you get around 20k an hour. that is the only flaw i see in this plan, i still need around 150k willow logs but i get about 1000 an hour so i think its better than maple i get around 10k an hour profit but that is fine semming it would take 10x as long to do it with cutting maple, getting about 2x the profit it doesnt work very well so just cut willows from 45-99 and it wont take long at all

If you do not want to make a proft, chop ivy from 80 to 99. I did it within about a month of ten hours a day chopping.

  39. Michael
    Posted February 25, 2011 at 3:46 am

This guide is absolutely horrid. Do NOT.
EVER, start Yews at 60. it is a TERRIBLE idea.

    1-15 Logs.
    15-30 Oaks.
    30-60 Willows.
    60-75 Maples.
    75-90/92 Yews.
    90/92-99 Magics.

If you don’t mind getting less money, Cut ivy 80-99.
Basicly, The idea is to start the new logs when you reach that level +15. Yews at 60, +15 you start at 75.
75 for magics, you start at 90.

If you don’t, you’ll get SLOW exp, and prolly ditch woodcutting, because you THINK it’s a slow skill.

Woodcutting is a wicked fast skill, especially if you decide to do IVY.

-99 Woodcutter in less than a month.

What about ivy fr00b? Yews at level 60? You nuts? I’m level 82 and it still takes me 5-10 minutes to get a whole inv WITH A DRAGON HATCHET! I tried to cut magics, but I finished the 8th grade before getting one log! IVY ALL THE WAY!
