RuneScape 2009 Halloween Event
The event is called "Web of Shadows". In this article you can find guide and rewards of this event.
Guide
Start this event by entering the dark portal located in south of Falador:
Speak to Grim Reaper. He says he brought you here because he has a task for you. There is a spider in his bathtub and you need to get rid of it. He says you need to go upstairs to talk with the spider.
Ask him why is he in Grim’s bathroom. He tells you that Spider Queen has sent him to Grim’s bathroom. He also tells that he will go away if Spider Queen will tell so.
Next speak to Grim Reaper. He will open a portal that will lead you to a web-maze.
The maze is easy, but sometimes you can fail walking on webs. You will need to find different routes. just keep trying. After you reached the center of the maze climb up the web ladder.
After climbing the ladder you should reach the second level of maze. As before just try walking on webs and doing obstacles. You can’t fail any obstacle on this level of maze.
Climb the ladder after you have reached them. You should now be in a Spider Queen’s house or something. Talk to spider herald (the biggest of spiders)
Tell him you must meet the Queen of Spiders and that Grim Reaper has sent you.
Now climb up the opposite ladder in front of you. You should now be in Spider Queen’s room. Talk to her and say that you represent Grim Reaper and tell that there is spider in his bathtub. Spider Queen tells that she put the spider in there because Grim always is insulting her because he cleaned the cobwebs from his house at Halloween. She says she will remove the spider if Grim will decorate his house with cobwebs.
After talking with Spider queen, go downstairs and talk to herald again. Herald will give you spider named Eek. He will help you to decorate Grim Reaper’s house with cobwebs. Now go downstairs and return to Grim Reaper’s house.
Talk to Grim Reaper and start webbing all around the house. There are totally 64 items that needs to be webbed. After entering each room Eek will tell you how much items you need to web in room.
Remember that you also need to web funiture on 2nd floor of house. Keep webbing chairs, candlestands, cabinets, tables, boockcases, larders, fireplaces and footlockers. Ask other people for help if you can’t find some webs. Also remember that only few furniture have Web function.
Many people didn’t notice that you can web also footlockers.
After reaching a room with a dog you need to calm down the dog so you could web that room. To calm it down first entertain him and then hold Eek for him to sniff. Then dog will calmed down and you can now web the room.
After webbing all the pieces of furniture go talk to Grim Reaper. He will tell you to go ask Spider queen to remove the spider from bathtub. Enter portal and choose spider court.
She will tell you that she is satisfied and will remove the spider from bathtub. She will give you spider cloak. Eek will tell her that he wants to stay with you to explore the human world. Congratulations, the event is completed!

bob must be retarded. This guide is really useful and helped me breeze through the quest. remember that the route for the spider web is deffierent for all and on the 2nd floor, the ladder is located north

Technically that’s not true, You only unlock those from Previous hallow’een events if you have not done them, just a technicality
