RuneScape 2009 Halloween Guide

Well, it’s that time of year again. Time to go wild and freak everyone out! This is a guide that will walk you through the steps to completing Runescape’s 2009 Halloween Special Event. We will also pick up some pretty neat prizes along the way. So, let’s get started!

 Getting there:

            The portal to access the event is between Port Sarim and Falador, as you get close, the light becomes less and less. This is because the portal is a “Dark Portal”. For this event you do not need any equipment, although items to make you lighter would be useful.

            When you first enter the house, continue along straight until you see…

Yup, you guessed it, the Grim Reaper. Except this time, he is looking a little down. Talk to him and see what is wrong.

             After you have finished speaking with him, look on the mini-map for a flight of stairs. You will want to go up them now.

 When you reach the top of the stairs you need to go and talk to the spider in the bathtub, no wonder the Grim Reaper stinks…

While you are talking to the spider, you may find it to be very frustrating. Just keep going at it, this is how to entire event is going to be.

Once you have finished talking with the spider, go and once again talk to the grim reaper.

Then, go talk once more with the spider if you have not been told you can go through the web portal.

Finally, enter the web portal.

You will find yourself in an area similar to the following one. Your goal right now is to find your individual path to the center island with the ladder. Once again, everyone’s path is different so it may take some time to find the correct sequence.

            When you reach the middle of the web, climb the ladder and you will find your self in a room with many different spiders. Talk to the biggest spider in the center, remember, be polite to all the spiders you meet. This spider will grant you permission to speak to the queen spider, which is up the ladder across the room.

The Queen of Spiders:      

Talk with her and she will explain why the spider is sitting in the Grim Reaper’s bathtub. Now, the fun part!

  Say hello to your little friend, Eek.

Now you must go back to the Grim Reaper’s house and put webs all over everything. When you come to a room with a skeleton dog in it, Eek will not make webs until you take care of the dog. First of all, entertain the dog. Next, show the dog Eek the Spider. You may now proceed to put webs all over this room.

            Once you have finished “decorating” all of the rooms you will get a message to tell you. You can now go and speak with the Spider in the bathtub; however she will not leave unless she gets an order from the Spider Queen. So, go back into the Web Portal, except this time, there will be an option to take you straight to the spiders den. After you have spoken with the queen feel free to go back to the tub.

You can now go and talk to the Grim Reaper and Spider Queen freely to get your rewards, if you have not already.

The Rewards:

            The items given have no attack or defence bonuses. However, Eek the spider is fairly neat as you can play with him and hold him.
