RuneScape 99 Woodcutting Guide
A good f2p way of 99 woodcutting in runescape.
Hi, recently i hit 99 woodcutting on my Runescape account and i am here to share with the world the great way i did it. Please follow me as i show you an extremely easy free to play way of getting 99 woodcutting.
Level 1-20
You can start by buying an axe from the general store in Lumbridge for a low price and cutting the trees next to the woodcutter guide. You can bank these or sell them to the general store. If you wish to reach level 20 more quickly then go into the forest just behind Lumbridge castle and chop normal trees there. If you choose to chop in the forest i recommend just dropping all the logs as it is much faster than going all the way to the bank. At level 15 you will be able to chop oak trees. I strongly recommend that you do not. Cutting oaks at this level is utterly pointless as it will take a long time to cut them.
Level 20-35
You can now start cutting oak trees. If you are not already at the forest behind the Lumbridge castle then i recommend you go there now. Cut the oak trees and drop the logs or bank them if you really want at Draynor Village or Lumbridge. It will take some time to reach level 35. At level 30 you will be able to cut willow trees, but again, don’t. It will be very difficult to cut the willows at level 30 just like it would have been hard to cut the oaks at level 15.
Level 35-65
You can now start cutting willows. It will still be quite difficult to cut willows even at this level but it will still be quicker than oaks. The best free to play place to cut willows if you are banking them(which i recommend because you can get your fire making level up later) Is next to the bank in Draynor Village. It will be quite crowded here so go on a quiet world. If you are just dropping your logs then the willows around the pond just south of the Lumbridge mill is the best free to play place to do this. Getting 65 woodcutting will be quite a difficult challenge but stick at it, the worst is still to come. Once you reach level 60 you will be able to cut yews. But you can guess what i am going to say to that….if you can’t guess then i am going to say that it would be completely useless. Yews are the most difficult log in the free to play world to cut. Even when you reach level 65 it will still take a long time to cut them.
Level 65-99
You can now start cutting yews if you really want but i still recommend that you cut willows until level 70. However once you do switch over then the yew spot just south of Varrock is the place to go. There is three yew trees spread around a small area. You will probably think that there is a better place to cut yews but this is the best free to play place to cut yews because it is never very crowded, even on popular worlds. Once you get settled in to this place then you will realise just how long it will take to get 99 woodcutting from here. This part of your woodcutting life is the most annoying. It will take months and months to reach level 99 as a free to play player. No matter what you do you will have to put in the hard yards. I do NOT recommend using a bot if you get tired because Jagex is continually updating Runescape making it easier to catch bots and your profile will be banned without any mercy.
Once you finally reach level 99 after all those months of hard work you will be disappointed to find out that you can not buy the woodcutting cape of accomplishment until you become a member. Yeah i know it’s very annoying. That’s how Jagex get people to buy members, but you will still know that when you do buy members you can get a cape straight away
. To get from level 70-99 woodcutting cutting yew trees you will need to cut around 65,000 logs. I know it sounds very painful when i say it like that but when you convert that number to around about 25,000,000 gp it sounds alot better. NOTE: that price was taken as of September 2009, the grand exchange may have changed around since then. I hope you make it to 99 woodcutting.
Thanks for reading.
