RuneScape: A Guide for Beginners!

Introduction:

Well hello there! Welcome to the Runescape beginner guide! I take it that if your already on this page, you must have some interest in playing Runescape right? *Heads nod* Excellent! First off, i’ll give a brief overview of Runescape. 

Runescape is a popular MMORPG game (described as the most popular free MMORPG according to the Guinness Book of World Records) published by Jagex corporation located in Cambridge, England. The game offers a free version that requires no payment, and an optional monthly payment that allows a player to access more items, skills, monsters and areas. 

Getting Started: 

1) Go to the website www.runescape.com and click on the box that says create a free account. 

2) You’ll enter a page where it asks you to enter a username, password, birthday and country of residence. The username that you enter will be your in-screen name in the game, and can be changed only if you become a member by paying. Remember to put correct information, and make your password easy for you to memorize and hard for others to guess. 

3) You’ll now enter a page where you’ll enter your email address. Enter it now and check the two boxes on the bottom. Check the two boxes below the box that says “confirm email address” if you would not like to receive Jagex newsletters.

4) Complete! You’re finished. Be sure to quickl go over the rules and regulations and then proceed to the title screen. (Click on home on the toolbar at the top).

5) Select the box that says “Click Here to Play” and start your adventure! 

Quick Summary of the Game:

When you first start, you’ll enter tutorial island, and all you do is follow the instructions that they give you. Remember, the max level you can achieve on the island is 3. 

After you’re done, you’ll be teleported to Lumbridge, where you play in the real game. There are a number of skills, but only 9 of them are members only. They include: Thieving, Farming, Agility, Construction, Hunter, Fletching, Herblore, Slayer and Summoning. 

In the free worlds, you have access to most of the skills (not all functions of the skill however), around 60 slots in your bank and access to one part of the map. By paying for membership (highly recommended if you enjoy the game alot) you’ll gain full access to the game without restrictions.
