Runescape Barrows Guide

Hello, first you need to know that barrows is a dangerous mini game and you can lose your items.  It is recommended that you be at least lvl 90+ before you try and venture into this.  Barrows is a rewarding, challenging, yet very dangerous part of Runescape (members only), that should not be attempted with less than 43 prayer.  The basic concept is that you fight five legendary brothers in their crypts in Morytania, and then enter into the underground tunnels where a sixth brother must be found. Once you have killed him you precede to a locked door where you must solve a puzzle to reach a treasure chest that contains items varying from mind runes to the very powerful Barrows armour and weapons. These equipment sets are some of the most sought-after rewards in all of Runescape. 

If you want to be effective in the way you get loot you should plan on doing multiple trips without taking breaks.  The odd of getting a Barrows item from killing a brother is approximately 1 in 108 kills. This is roughly an average of only 1 item in 18 trips to the chest, so patience is rewarded. 

Quests

             To get to the Barrows you MUST have completed the Priest in Peril quest and at least started the Nature Spirit quest to be able to enter the swamps.  For the method I will be explaining you will need to have done Desert Treasure so you can use ancient magic’s.  Ghost ahoy to use the ectophial.

Levels and Items

              The levels that you will need to be successful are 70+ magic, 70+ healths, 70+def, 70+STR, and 70+att.  Items you will need are ahrim’s hood, ahrim’s robe top, ahrim’s robe bottoms,anceint staff,abysal whip,10 prayer pots, super def (4),and around 500 ice burst casts, and 100 sharks.

Inventory and Armour (one trip)

               Wear your ahrim’s and ancient staff.  Have ice burst on auto cast.  Bring 2 pray pots, 1 super def (4), your 500 ice burst casts, a shovel, an ectophial, abyssal whip and the rest sharks.

Then start out on Torag by clicking on your shovel.  Then click on the tomb.  He will come out and start casting Ice Burst on him.  Don’t use any prayer because Torag is the easiest.  Then go to Verac and again don’t use your prayer because he hits through it.  Then go and kill Dharok.   Now MAKE sure you drink your super def pot.  Make sure you have full prayer and health and then go in.  Note: Do not let him hit you, he will hit 30s and 40s constantly so watch your health and drink pray pots when you need to.  Then go to Karil and use your protect from Ranged pray.  After that go to Ahrim.  Equip your abyssal whip and then fight Ahrim.  Last you want to kill Guthan using Ice Burst.   REMEMBER there will always be one brother that is not in the tomb.  Kill all the brothers before venturing into the depths of the tomb.  Make sure you kill the last brother when you enter it before opening the chest because then you have a better chance of getting a barrows item.  Click the link below for the puzzle door answers.
