Hello there, are you a beginner/new member to Runescape and do you want to make some money on the game? Well then welcome to the beginner’s guide to making money on Runescape! To start, you’ll want to make sure you have 3 essential things:

1.       Consistency

2.       Diligence

3.       Patience

These 3 are so helpful to making money, you would be surprised.

Here are some non-requirements that are still helpful and will give you an advantage in this guide:

a)      15 Mining

b)      10,000 gp (aka: 10k)

c)       15 Smithing

So why did I have you make sure you have those as requirements?

Because any way you want to make money on Runescape will take time. The more time you invest, the greater the reward.

Method One: Cowhides

Now that we’re done with the greetings and intro mish-mash, why don’t I explain the method? The idea is to kill cows until you have a ton of cowhides. Generally, you can get these as a slayer task by talking to your slayer master (if you have Turael or Spira as slayer masters, I don’t think any of the higher level ones will assign them). Once you get a ton of cowhides, more than you could have ever imagined, let’s see what you can do with them.

If you have absolutely no cash at all, you can sell them on the Grand Exchange in Northwest Varrock currently for 237 gp each.

Before doing anything else now, check the Grand Exchange prices (which can be found from the Runescape.com homepage). Search “leather”, and see if hard leather is worth more or soft leather.

After doing so, and making sure you have money, go to Al-Kharid for 10gp to pass through the gates and head over to the tanner who’s in the room to the north of the room with the furnace in it (south from the gate that separates Lumbridge from Al-Kharid). Once you’re at the tanner with 1 coin per cowhide (if you want to make soft leather, referred to as “leather” on the grand exchange) or 3 coins per cowhide (if you want to make hard leather) and while making sure you have a full inventory of cowhides, tan the cowhides.
