Runescape – Best spots to train skills – Version 2
Updated version of my latest “Best spots to train skills”
Now way batter than before
The second version of my latest article called “Runescape – best spots to train skills” has arrived. This new version has some major updates, it’s more organized, shows new places and tricks for you to train your Runescape F2P skills quicker, just read and see.
Attack, strenght, defence, hitpoints
Way 1 for low level players: well, there is no special place to train your combat when you’re a low level. There are weak monsters around Lumbridge that you can train on, such as cows, mans, goblins, bears, etc.
Way 2 for middle level players: Guards from the main cities such as Varrock and Falador should be good. If you did the dragon slayer quest, you can fight skeletons, inside Crandor cave.
Outside the crandor cave, in the isle, there are moss giants level 42, they have high hp and low defence, that way you can do massive damage to them, and win good xp.
They drop big bones, useful for you to train prayer. They may drop other items too, such as black sq shields, mithril swords, uncuts, magic staffs, some money, etc.
Way 3 for high level players: If you did the dragon slayer quest, you may reach crandor cave trough karamja volcano, walk around and you will see some strong lesser demons good for you to train. Rarely they drop rune med helms and other stuff too.
The stronghold of security: The stronghold is one of the best places; there are various monster levels, from weak ones to strong ones. The stronghold is in Barbarian village.
Ranged
You may as well follow the instructions of “attack, strength, defence, hitpoints” don’t forget that with ranged you can shot enemies from afar so train wisely.
Don’t shot enemies caged, at the top of mountains, ect, or you may not be able to retrieve your arrows; And buying new ones is time and money wasted.
Hide behind rocks and shot enemies from there, their artificial intelligence isn’t good enough for them to turn around the rock and attack you.
If you’re low level or mid level, you can train in dwarves mines in falador against scorpions, hide behind rocks and attack them. This was only an example.
Don’t forget to pick up your arrows after battle.
Additional information given by dfnk: there are a billion places, but the best is under Edgeville against hill giants, or against guards in Varrock castle roof.
Prayer
Way 1: This is the best way, go to the champion’s guild, kill chikens, and grab their bones. This is good because there are many chikens, they quickly respawn, and with only 1 attack you kill them, so you collect bones very fast. Collect bones until you have full inventory and bury them all. Since you’re there you might as well grab their feathers and then sell.
Way 2: North of Varrock, in wildy, there is a place called chaos altar, that place is surrounded by bones, and they respawn quick. You have to take caution and beware of pkers. It’s advised to leave all your stuff in the bank.
Way 3: Northeast of Lumbridge there is a cow field. Kill cows and grab their bones. Since you’re there you might as well grab their cowhides for your crafting training.
Way 4: If you’re strong go to Crandor Island and kill moss giants, grab their big bones and bury them for good xp.
A small secret: If you’re training in crandor against moss giants, collect a good quantity of big bones in your inventory, now bury them all at once, if you’re lucky, a guy will appear and teleport you to an cemetery for a random event, where you can win zombie cloths, and zombie mask.
Magic
You can follow the instructions of “ranged” it works to. But with magic, you can, attack caged enemies, and enemies at the top or at the bottom of mountains, that way you don’t need food because they won’t attack you.
Even if you’re high magic level, train your magic with basic spells, so that way you don’t waste money buying expensive runes.
I always trained in wizard tower (south of draynor village) against the caged lesser demon. Cast basic fire spells on him. If you run out of runes, you can buy more in port sarim. Sometimes they drop rune med helms that you can pick with telekinetic grab.
Players train there too, so its fun to train and chat at the same time.
If you want the demon just for yourself, try a world less crowded.
Runecrafting
Go to the Varrock magic shop and teleport yourself to the rune essence place.
Mine until full inventory and deposit the essence in the Varrock bank. Do this, until you have lots of Rune essence. Now go to Falador, grab an air talisman, and transform the rune essence on air runes in air altar near Falador. I pick that altar for being the closer of a bank.
Crafting
Way 1: There is a mining place north of Al Kharid, It has 5 silver rocks, mine them until full inventory.
Grab a holy symbol mould or a tiara mould. Smelt the silver ore on the furnace near Lumbridge. Now smelt the bars and transform them in unstrung holy symbols or tiaras, sell them to the general store nearby for money.
Way 2: Buy lots of thread and needle in Rimmington. Now go kill cows northeast of Lumbridge, grab cowhides until full inventory, now go to the tanner owner in Al Kharid, and transform the cowhides in soft or hard leather. You can now make leather bodies. Repeat the progress for more xp.
Way 3: Mine clay in dwarves mines, transform the clay in soft clay on Falador’s fountain (you need a bucket of water), now go to barbarian village and make some pottery there, repeat the process for more xp.
The crafting guild: The crafting guild, southwest of Falador, is the best place of all to train crafting (otherwise it wouldn’t be called crafting guild). You can mine clay there, and make pottery there, that’s true, you don’t need to go for a place to another or anything like that, it spares you lots of time.
It has also a mining place with silver, gold and clay rocks to the right. Is also have some cows to the left. You can kill the cows and tanner the cowhides in the crafting guild, you can sheer sheeps north of the guild and spin them in the guild. It has some moulds there as well. When you get level 40, be sure to train there.
Mining
You should know better than anyone that the dwarves mines in Falador is the best place of all, it has almost all kinds of rocks.
Power mine with iron rocks: If you are mining only to power up, use only iron rocks. And now you ask, why? Its simple, the Iron rocks are very easy to mine, give reasonable xp, and respawn very quickly, very quickly indeed.
It’s true that mining coal gives more xp, but the time you waste mining 1 coal rock, you can mine 2 iron, rocks, and have more xp. The time you waste waiting for the coal rocks to respawn, you can mine lots of iron rocks.
Some players may come and want ore too, so don’t waste time depositing the ore in the bank, drop it, so players pick them and don’t bother you.
The mining guild, for all your coal needs: When you reach level 60, stop powering up with iron, you can now go to the mining guild in dwarves mines, that place is full of coal rocks, you mine them, you don’t even need to wait for them to respawn because there are plenty.
Even if you are mining coal there only to power up, never drop it, you see that there is an exit of the guild that takes you to a very near bank, so deposit your coal there.
When you have a big quantity of them you can do 2 things, use them to make bars, and train smithing, or sell them.
If you want to sell the coal, go to Falador East bank, and sell there for 160 or 170gp each.
Smithing
Alright, start mining your ore in dwarves mine; deposit them in Falador east bank; when you have a big quantity of them, teleport yourself to lumbridge, go east to Al Kharid Bank, you will see that there is a furnace very, but very near to the Al Kharid bank, smelt your ore there, now go to Varrock West bank, you will see that there is an anvil very near, smith your bars there, and sell the armour or weapons that you made to players or to a general store.
Even if you are high smithing, and you can smelt mithril or adamant or even rune, never train with that bars, is better to train with steel, making steel platebodies. Because to make mithril, or adamant or rune, you will need plenty of coal and you gain xp faster by training with steel.
Fishing
Way 1 for low level fishing players: If you are going to start your fishing do the following: Buy a small fishing net in port sarim and go to the fishing place near draynor, catch some shrimp there, until your level is 5.
Now buy a fishing rod and fish bite, in port sarim, and start fishing hearings in the fishing place near draynor.
Way 2 for middle level fishing players: If your level is 20 or more, you are now able to catch trouts, go to the fishing place near barbarian village and fish there; when your inventory is full you can cook the fish.
After cooking, store it in a bank, sell it, or drop it to save time.
Keep with this method and you will reach level 30, fish salmons for more xp, and cook it for more cooking xp.
Way 3 for high level fishing players: When you reach level 40, you will be able to catch lobsters, and you may want to buy a lobster pot, and go catch lobsters in Karamja, because you think that it gives more xp, it its true, but there are bad things in this method, first of all, there is no banks nearby, so you must drop the lobsters, go all the way to the nearest bank, or sell them to the general store nearby; also, catching lobsters may take a while. Use this method if you are fishing only to power up your fishing level and if your fishing level is really high, or else, catching lobsters will take much time.
An axe and an tinderbox by your side: in most fishing places, there are always trees nearby, so cut them and make fire to power up your cutting and firemaking level, then cook your fish to power up your cooking level.
Cooking
The best way of all to train your cooking level is to cook the fish you catch. Fill up your inventory with fish, make fire and cook that fish, then you may deposit it in your bank, or give it to players to save time and keep fishing.
Don’t waste time: Don’t bother making pies, or cakes or other kind of food, the xp that it gives is not worth of the time you waste preparing it, so never forget, to power up cooking level, cook fish.
Woodcutting & Firemaking
Very easy to train, Runescape is full of trees; all you need is 1 axe and 1 tinderbox in your inventory, nothing else.
If you’re low level: Cut normal trees that can be found all around Runescape until full inventory, now make fire with them, and repeat the process.
When you reach level 15, start cutting oaks, and burn them of course.
If you’re middle level: When you’re level 30 you can now cut willows, willows trees can be found near Draynor villageand near Lumbridge.
If you’re high level: When you’re level 60 you can now cut yew logs, that can be found south of Falador, behind Varrock’s castle, and near Edgeville.
Well, and this is all folks, hope this was useful to you. Sorry if you became tired just for reading this guide, but certainty you didn’t became as tired as I when I finished this. Take care, and may your life be filled with xp. Bye

Didn’t read the whole guide, but for the categories I seen, it is well-explained. I would suggest that it would be better if you post your guide in point forms, and keep up the good work.
what about a mage gude??
pretty good guild,it could of been better
what kind of guild is this i seen better!
Only problem with this is about your cooking. Yes cooking fish is good, but it’s not good enough. when you get to a high cooking level cooking fish isn’t as effective. Go to the cooking guild outside of Varrock, top floor, fill half of your inventory with grapes and the other half with jugs (both up there) go to the bottom floor and fill all jugs with water, then use grapes on the jugs. If you wait a while the wine will ferment in your inventory, giving you plenty of wine and 200xp each.
Otherwise great article.
like juice said the cooking guide could be better
one more thing, this was not a bad guide, i dont want u to think that i was dissing it, just it could have been better…
ok im 86 wcin so i no my way around…with trees that is..but c\’mon man…u could list some pretty much uninhabbited yew locations for the newly lvl 60+ wcers. otherwise this guide is very good, i’ve read this and the first 1.
yeah…this guide is ok. but read the first 1 and this and i think it’s pretty good for noobs/non-knowing players…its ok to be both btw =P.
Umm its okay… id say for high lvls to train at dag’s, irons and steels, or bandit camp but not bad
lvl 60 plus rangers should train on yaks… or fire giants if thay have 60+ def. but good advise
oi he done good and cooking fish is good for fishing exp plus if u r a mem train at rock crabs at rellika if not train on hill giantsbut if u want an easy task kill anything you are comfortable about
Great guide, I have one thing to reccomend. In woodcutting, if you go to Rimmington(look on the world map) there is only one symbol for one yew, but if you actually go there there are 4 or 5 yews grouped together and no one is ever there. Great place to go!
ummm yeah… the woodcutting was good until you got to the willows. people should actually wait till they can use rune axes and/or till they can cut maples to start cutting them at a good speed. but everything else was good.
A seuggestion for prayer: get a lot of big bones.
Go to world 31 and into a high level construction’ers house. Use the bones on a Gilded Alter. This will get fast xp and took me up to lvl 99 on three accounts. Hope this helps x
The best way to train prayer is very expensive, but I suggest you try it. On members’ worlds, you can do the following: Buy about 20 dragon bones and go to a house party world. Find a person with a gilded altar, and enter their chapel. Make sure the two incense burning things are lit, or else it won’t work fully. Use your dragon bones on the gilded altar and you get rapid prayer levels. My brother tried this idea and got from 15 prayer to 32 prayer in about 30 minutes. As you can tell, this is the best way to train prayer, however, as with most other good ways of training, it has its drawbacks. One load of dragon bones costs about 40k. It is also possible to kill your own dragons; however be sure to bring a bunch of sharks because of the new revenants. I have confirmed that they are a big handful when trying to get dragon bones. Overall, this is I think much better than killing chickens for bones, but you can’t do it until you’re ready to either spend massive amounts of money or risk your life killing dragons. Good luck!
A very good place to train {members only} is the fight pits in karajam. they are bril. you keep on going in and i usually get about 1.5k xp very time.and it is a mini-game so u don’t need food. when u go in and come out you get something called tockal and u can buy obby maul obby rings and loads of other stuff
I got all my levels off of killing stuff about 10 levels above me like when i was three since i a ranger i would fight unicorns. Oh and if you a non member go under ground in varrock sewers and you can train of alot of different levels down there.
Well really in the fight pit’s it depend’s on your level
ya i agree with josh
yo ray i tried triond thing(free mem in runescape) thing and i cant paste more than 1000 characters! and i was thinking how did u paste tht much!?
i think u should train karajaM ON THE LEZZERS
this is kind of good for range im lvl 79 i like all of it
This is a pretty good guide but it c ould use some more guide like crafting fishing etc
this guide was ok but it could have been a little bit better
I’m a lvl 93 right now and I think I’m pretty good for a non-member. I mean I have full saradomin rune and almost 5 million in cash pluss I have thousands of runes arrows etc. Range armour and all rune weapons etc. But I find the best place to train is in the stronghold of security against the lvl 50 spiders cuz they give a lot of really quick xp. u can fish trout and salmon just outside also. If u want to get good drops then instead of lesser demons u should fight the new lvl 83 roaches in the Stronghold of Safety. The lvl 56’s and 8’s also give pretty good drops.(oh ya I was a member for 1 month at like lvl 70) Hope I helped =P
If you have any questions u can add me my username in
Red Tiger263 but I’m a non member
you cant get rune arrows in no member worlds
i rekon one of the best places to train for mems is the bandits in the dessert. reasons because there only lvl 57 and thy drop rannar and they continuly attk u with out having to click. all u need is food, something sara or zammy and ur off i got 740k xp in one day off them hope this helped
nice guide what about lvling things like wood cutting and mining because it takes forever to level mining
This is a great guide and you have explaned your points in full dietal. I am lvl 93 as well on runescape i all ways train on the orges next to castle wars. They are lvl 53 but i also get my prayer lvl up at the same time because they drop big bones. There is also a little wall next 2 them so u can range or mage with out them attaking u. If you are lvl 80+ i recomend you take food nothing to good something like salmon or tuna because they can some times hit 5’s on u. off this i level 3 lvls in 2 days. well i hope this helped you.
the best place to train range in the game (45-85) is in edgeville dongeon, right near hill giants, attk skeletons, and hobgoblins. mage u train in vrrk sewers for low lvls, just cast crumble undead on skeletons there. melee, is by far black nights if ur a high lvl u can two or three hit them.
tribony should go to camelot and train on magi trees
im sorry but if some one have some ideas about how to make an article in gameolsophy please help i have maked some but i dont know it goed good or not i have whrited in description lol if someone can help message my on skype my skype is (kaangarooo)

best place to make money is mine pure ess after rune mysterys not great xp but good money i made like 6m off it it is easy but boaring.
best place to train attk def str is the 3rd layer of the stronghold of security attking lvl 50 spiders or 2nd lvl attking lvl 43 flesh crawlers easy xp

i forgot to add this if u do add me dont ask me for free stuff or i will ignore u and not give my tips
Oh thanks this guild is A.w.s.o.m.e. and atleast you tried your best.
Hi, i’m a level 119 member, one of the best places to power train your melee stats is Bandits in the desert south of Al-Karid. All you need is decent weapon/armor, pots and some food (I recommend monkfish or higher). Also it is a good idea to wear an item of Saradomin or Zamorak so that they will become agressive to you.
If you have any questions feel free to join my ClanChat.
Thanks,
~Reecist1
I train in edville hill giants and my range lvl is 49 i cant wait to get it up to lvl 65 any ideas?
I’m a member I’ve got say the guide is alright…but it leaves alot of info, likein the attack skill, the rock crabs are great but it will take ages…bandits are great( i personally train on them) but the tzkoull is the place im not sure how to spell its a great place to train for higher lvl(70+) players..its located in karajama volcano..just play the game in there tht offers tokkuls u can train and get prizes. but just bring high lvl healing food.
ok this is a good way for prayer xp(but its mem) get a games necklace then telle to bounty hunter then go out and run south-west till you come to a creves then go down there are baby black drags green drags all sorts of things but where i go is to the mosses there loads of em and they sometimes are slayer tasks this place is better then the place out by aurdugen cause no one is ever there
gl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
a good why for att def and str is going in the stonghold of securety(ya i know he talked about it already) then go to the last lvl and kill anouks they drop bloods deaths other cool iteams and sometimes lvl 3 clue scrolls(you can get really expensev iteams from them but you can also get normal iteams like rune pl8 legs)this is the most well know place to train(other than rock crabs) there is also a safe spot(where you can range or mage with out getting hurt)in on of the rooms full of anouks and skelletons
heres a way to make money and not to many ppl know about this…..go to the desert(again this a mem way)go east then go north till you can cross the river cross it then go north till you come to the last village there is there are goats there and a bank like 10 feet away kill the goats get there horns crush them and then sell them at the GE for normal price ppl buy them really quick 100 of them is 100k they buy for 798 bring desert robes and water skins or else you wont be able to do this
everyone know bout the place by c wars where the orges are….to do this you need a rope go to the orges and you will see an unusely large tree with a long branch sticking out use the rope on it and then swing across then your on the lil island thingy and you have all the orges to yoursefl!!!!!! gl !!!!!
heres a good way to lvl up range but you need to have done the waterfall quest grab your gloria amulet then go in the water fall go north-west once inside adn go rigth beside the door to the far north then range fire giants and they cant hurt you they even sometimes drop d meds(they vary from the prices 70k and 90k)theres a room right infront of you that has fire giants and you can only melle them
o good way to advance crafting is to spin sinew every load is about 500xp and after a qhile of spinning its good money
Best way to train combat for me was to go to 2nd level of security, in the south east corner, where there are flesh crawlers that are aggressive, so I get 10k xp in 30 min or less without needing to stay at the comp. However, once they stop attacking you, run west till the zombies there start auto-attacking you, then you can run back to where you train…
This guide could be better
well im not sure if alot of you noticed but this is obv a f2p guide and alot of you are sayign about members tranign spots. so for f2p’s id say it a good guide ^.^
