RuneScape Bots: Autotalkers

We are all aware of bots, but Jagex ensured nobody could use those anymore right? Wrong.

As I start to play Runescape more often, I’m starting to use the Grand Exchange more often in order to make some money. If you have played Runescape for a while, you will know that recently Jagex have started to clamp down hard on people who use bots or Macros as it is just plain unfair on the players of Runescape. Before this update, bots were everywhere, you couldn’t escape them, every tree you wanted to chop, every ore you wanted to mine, you would find a level 3 bot with no hair on their avatar hogging that certain item.

But when Jagex started getting rid of these cheaters, the people using these programs got an idea, they would  use the program and when a person also annoyed at bots furiously types “hey, are you a bot, answer me or I will take it that you are.” the person using the bot would quickly type “no, I’m not” but really he is using an auto clicker. So then Jagex started to find these bot programs, find out how they work and made it possible for their servers to eventually pick up anyone using them on their game.

After, everything went quiet, no bots were in sight, everyone went back playing as usual just thankful for the bot invasion to be over. Then came the auto talkers….

Remember that I mentioned about the grand exchange, well this is probably the worst effected area from the auto talkers. Nearly every single world will have a big group of people just using these bots hoping that someone will buy what they have been saying for the past hour. And surprisingly, they never go away, you can check the Grand exchange in the morning, they will be there, if you check the exchange at night, they will be there, even if you check it at around 2am in the morning (that’s right I’ve checked then…) they will still be there typing in colourful letters with their bouncing effects they put in their auto talk bot to spam.

Before if you walked into the Grand exchange it will be more or less quiet, because the people their will be mostly selling their items to the grand exchange and are patient enough to wait for someone else to buy the item, occasionally you will see someone shouting that they are selling something, but there isn’t anything wrong with that.

Now however, if you walk into the Grand exchange, you will be welcomed with extreme lag if you are using high detail which forces me to put the game into Standard mode so that I don’t have to run into the Grand exchange in slow motion.

Here is a picture showing how hectic the Grand exchange is now..

(the image quality is a bit poor, but you can see my point.)

Some people may argue and say that it’s just alot of people typing and happening to enter it more or less the same time, this is understandable but I urge anyone thinking this to go to world 1 and see how many times you see the same text being shown on your screen in the time span of 30 seconds.

Anyone who reads all my articles knows that I love comments from both sides, and that I mostly respond to all of them.

Also I have launched a blog, if you wish to view it: www.harrys-reviews.blogspot.com

I personally hate all the auto’er around Runescape.
it’s so annoying to look at but so smart.
I know that this sounds so stupid but I actually used to do this a lot myself. It’s very smart and I hate typing all the stuff in 100 times. This is why it’s smart to use the Grand Exchange instead of typing “Wave:Glow: Selling Dragon Boots X,X Million!!!” lol…

Yes, as far as I’ve been playing Runescape (three or four years) there have been people doing that…

Is it against the Runescape rules, because if it isn’t it should be and it should be treated the same as bots.

Anyways now i mostly see auto typers saying
“Join Merch Kingz!!! Make Millions!!!!!!!” lol but u gotta admit that auto typers are very usefull for people who type slow… i type fast but it still gets annoying typing things 100 times!
