RuneScape Combat Guide

For most new players, understanding Runescape is pretty hard. They get confused of all the different skills, or maybe of misguidance from others. But there’s no need to worry, as I will tell you about these different skills in a very simple way. This article will deal with combat skills.

Combat skills

Combat skills are the most important skills in Runescape. They help you to raise your combat level, allow you to wield better weapons, wear better armor, hit harder on your opponents and last longer in a fight. Your Combat level is based on these skills:

4.    Hit points

5.    Magic

6.    Ranged

7.    Prayer

Attack

Attack helps you to wield weapons of better quality. The higher your attack level, the better weapons you can wield. It also helps you to hit more frequently on your opponents, so you deal more damage, and hit less 0’s.

Defense

Defense helps you to wear armor of better quality. The higher your defense level, the better armor you can wear, which means that you will receive less damage. Defense also protects you from your opponent’s attacks. The higher your defense level, the more 0’s your opponent will hit.

Strength

Your Strength level determines how much you can hit on your opponent. The higher your strength level, the higher will your hit be on your opponent.

Hit Points

Your hit points level is the amount of damage you can take. If it reaches 0, you die. The higher your hit point level is, the more damage you can take before dying, thus hit points enables you to last longer in fights.

Magic

Magic is a very powerful, yet expensive, skill. Magic allows you to deal very high damage at low levels. For example, at 59 magic, you can hit 17 with fire blast. But all this power comes at a very high price, because the runes required to cast these spells are very expensive.

Ranged

Ranged, as you may have guessed, is the skill of archery. You use a bow and arrows to fight. The higher your ranged level is, the better bows and arrows you can use, and the higher you will hit. Although ranged may not hit very high hits, it is known for its speed.

Prayer

Prayer is officially the most costly skill to raise, although it is very simple. All you have to do is bury bones, and they give you experience, which is required to raise your level.

The higher your prayer level is, the better and more useful prayers you can use, and your prayer meter lasts longer with high prayer. Prayer is very useful in combat. It acts as a helping hand, increases your attack, defense and strength, magic or ranged levels temporarily, or it can protect you from certain attack types for a short time.
