RuneScape – Duel Tornament Guide

Duel Tournament is one of the toughest mini-games in Runescape win. Most competitive are very high levelled and can kill their opponent faster than you can say “dead”! But this does not mean you can’t win! Duel Tournament is located in Duel Arena in Al Kharid.

The time to go is usually in the afternoon (America). Go onto world 54, 83 or 114 but 83 is the most populated. High ranked players in duel tournaments will find it pretty hard to find a game. To get there, you could walk or use a ring of dueling.

When you get there, go to the furthest booth and see the rules. Choose the rules are willing to have and wait until your rules are selected.

Melee means you are allowed melee, magic means you are allowed magic and ranged means you are allowed range attacks. Food means you are allowed food, prayer means you can use prayer, special attacks means you can use special attacks and potions (or drinks) means you can use potions. Healing between rounds means you are healed in between rounds and no armour (or weapon slot only) means you can only use a weapon. Summoning means you can use a familiar.

A tactic that lots of people use is to “cheat the rules”. For example, if no food is allowed but drinks are allowed, you can use potion mixes to heal yourself or use a Fire Titan, Ice Titan or Moss Titan scroll is summoning is allowed (if you have 79 summoning) or a bunyip (level 68 summoning).

If you are a strength pure, you can use rings of recoil to help or better yet to cast vengeance on yourself (requires the completion of Lunar Diplomacy and 94 magic). These will hit back at the opponent if they deal damage to you

Another great tactic is to wear Veracs. While wearing this, people use prayer will get hit more often and Verac armour also has pretty good defence bonuses! If someone is ice barraging you, wear dragon hide armour and start ranging your opponent. If you are wondering why I’m not suggesting this tactic, well the reason is because dragon hide armour will basically stop you from freezing and range owns mages.

If your opponent isn’t using protect melee, use a whip and defender to take them down. Make sure you use your prayer and special attacks only on emergencies as they do not heal if heal between rounds is on!

When you find the tournament rules you want, then you can join and take out the required materials and try your luck on winning. Note the fact that this is a SAFE mini-game and you will NOT lose your stuff. If you win when the entry fee is high and when there is a lot of people, you could earn about half a million in one game!

My final tip would be to stay calm as a low level character IS able to beat a high levelled character as I have seen with my own eyes a level 70 character beat a level 120 character! So good luck!
