RuneScape Economy. Clan Merchating and PvP 25,75k Trick
Whats happening in the runescape economy? Why are prices so high? I will explain this in the following article.
Hi have you gone to your Grand Exchange in runescape to try and buy say some air runes and you look it up and notice its doubled in price and then the next day its gone way back down in price.
Well this is the problem with the Grand Exchange economy its getting manipulated by clan merchanters, But this is not the only problem another one is with the new Pvp methods and people making lots of money of it.
First of all i will talk about item manipulating otherwise known as Clan merchanting and how its wrecking the runescape economy. Although clan merchanting can be a good way to make money it is completely mucking up the Grand Exchange. Clan merchanting works like this: A clan with lots of money decides on a item to buy. They then buy this item for max and try to buy out the item. This makes the Grand Exchange think that the item is becoming scarce so it pushes the price up. Then once they get it to a certain price they all “dump” (sell it) the item this causes the prices to drop very suddenly, also the unlucky people that don’t manage to sell there share of the item panic when they see the price dropping so they sell for low this pushes the price down even more.
Well now i have told you how it works now here’s the problem when the clan merchants a item that many players use to skill with or to train there skills with for example gems, leather, bars or runes then the people who train using the item merchanted may not be able to afford to train with that item any more, with the prices skyrocketing on common goods some players can’t afford to buy them and thus can’t play the game properly. I guess you could say that clan merchanting is making the rich richer and the poor poorer.
Now to the second problem with clan merchanting the sudden drop. Say a player is fishing lobsters to make him or her self some more money and they see the price of them rising because of the merchant clan. They build up there stock of lobsters till they have one thousand of them then decide to sell when they look at the price they are dismayed the price has dropped to less than half the original price of what they were worth and all because the merchanting clan dumped the lobsters. This would be very annoying after you have been working for hours on end fishing trying to make some money.
Note*lobsters are just an example this could happen with any item. Another example would be minning, smithing, wood cutting or killing monsters for big bones.
Ok now we are finished talking about clan merchanting on to the other problem pvp.
Well its not the pvp thats the issue its how people are using it. People who go into pvp with 25k in f2p or 75k in members and get killed giving their friend a good drop and then they get to kill their friend the same way. This produces huge drops iv herd in members of people getting over 20mill of items and also alot in f2p too. Now i have tried this myself just to see if it actually works and it did i made 150k of 25k so you can see why so many people do it trying to get the “big” drop or just trying to make a couple hundred k. Also the person who is the attacker has to have over 25 or 75k on them as well to increase the drop potential.
Ok now to the problem the problem is that with all these people making money from no where is that it is bringing a heap of expensive items into the game. This is also contributing to the fluctuations in the Grand Exchange. Also its cheating the system you shouldn’t be aloud to do its unfair and too easy to do to make money.
Well these are just some of the fixes Jagex need to do to make runescape are more stable game with a more stable economy. Because the economy is what keeps runescape alive.

Well written though I totally disagree with your views on merchant clans.
You say they are ’skyrocketing on common goods so some players can’t afford to buy them and thus can’t play the game properly’. However you also say that the item drops lower afterwards.
If anybody cannot work out that by waiting a few days the item will have dropped lower than they intended to pay in the first place, then they deserve to buy an item which is at the peak of a merch.

Thanks.
I agree that merchanting clans have ruined Runescape economy. A lot of items price skyrocketing and reach their highest peak these days.
But 26K and 76K Trick is actually drop all of the expensive items price in Runescape. I personally liked to have expensive items have their price decreased.
In response of Masteropeter comment, I think it’s possible to make profit when a price of an item is dropped and indirectly joined the merching clans. But most of the items will recover its price after weeks or even months and most of the players in Runescape don’t like to wait for weeks to sell their items and buy stuffs that they wanted. So my point is, not everyone like to do a merchanting and waiting for weeks to make a profit.
Thanks!
thanks for you comments and you views.
cheers.
Nicely done. I also agree on your views of merchanting clans unlike Masteropeter.
i’d like to point out that both of these ways are good money makers but its at the cost to the runescape economy.
Hate the meching clans….
The PvP trick is fixed now…hopefully.
man fuck you runescape dont need to fix shit you just want to be the only one to be rich
Well most of the merchanting clans are junk and no one says anything in them, however your close to the reason, but your stretching it quite far.
1st. The people can wait a few days and not lose money.
2nd. The fisherman wouldn’t be selling for half the price he saw he’d probly at max be selling for 200 gp less or so and the smart one would sell all he had when it was high.
Most players would have less trouble with the merchanting clans if they based thier projected sale on the 30 day average posted in the grand exchange section of the game guides instead of the one time price they see when they look at buying it in the G.E.
