RuneScape F2P Ranged Guide
Ever wonder how to train range in F2P Runescape. Read on to find out.
Range is an important skill in Runescape. It is a skill that allows one to attack an enemy from afar. It is cheaper than magic due to the fact that arrows can be picked up after a kill is completed. It is suggested to buy the following from the G.E.:
- 1-2k bronze or iron arrows (depending on the amount of cash in your bank)
- one of every shortbow in f2p
- Leather Vambraces, Body, and Legs
- Studded Legs
- Green Dragonhide Chaps and Vambraces
- Studded body and Green Dragonhide Body (if defence level is high enough/dragon slayer done)
- Cowl and Coif
Level 1-10
At these levels, chickens are the best option. Chickens can be found at one above the sheep farm in Lumbridge, the farm north of Port Sarim, the Champions Guild, or the farm across from the cows east of Lumbridge. Equip a shortbow, and your basic leather armour. Save all Feathers to make some money back. Switch to Oak Short at level 5.
Level 10-30
At this level, move on to cows. These are found just south of Falador, the Crafting Guild, the old Gnomecopters area, and across from the east chicken farm. Range these, saving all cowhides, and all unneeded beef. Beef may be used to heal if your hitpoints drop below a comfotable level. Switch to Willow Short, Coif and Studded Armour at level 20 Range, and Maple Shortbow at level 30.
Level 30-50
At this point, Barbarians are commonly used, and are almost always packed. They are an option. A second option is to kill Lesser Demons in the Kajarma Volcano. This option is good if you can high alch or have Explorers Ring 3. Moss giants and hill giants are also really good, but almost always packed. My favorite spot for these levels is killing Fortress guards using bronze arrows while standing on Ice Mountain. This is really good exp, but if the cash in the bank is low, then use Lesser Demons, Hill Giants, or Barbarians. Equip Green Dragonhide Armour at level 40 range.
Level 50-99
At this point, Lesser Demons in Kajarma and Fortress Guards still work, but Ice Giants south of Port Sarim also work one the Ice Warriors stop being aggressive. My personal favorite spot to Range in F2p is at Greater Demons and Anokus in the Wilderness Volcano. I prefer this because a bank is real close, and it is great experience with very little risk. Just remember to run out to the bank area if you see a reverant coming or log off.
