RuneScape: F2P vs. P2P

Is it worth it to be P2P (pay-to-play) or stay as a F2P (free-to-play) Runescape player? This article describes the qualities of both and lists the possible pros and cons.

A Runescape membership card

Many Runescape players, especially players new to the game who find it exciting, cannot decide on whether to stay as a F2P player or become a P2P player. There are many advantages of becoming a P2P player, but you have to pay $5, which many people either do not want to pay or whose parents will not let them pay. All information on websites regarding giving a password to the website is fake; the website’s owners will steal your account.

Here are some of the pros and cons of a non-member (F2P player):

Pros

  • you don’t have to pay $5.50
  • you can experience the Runescape world if you are new

Cons

  • There are not very many options
  • People do not regard you as a ‘true’ Runescape player.
  • more of a challenge

Here are some of the pros and cons of a member (P2P player):

Pros:

  • you get a vast world to explore
  • you are a ‘true’ Runescape player

Cons:

  • You have to pay money

So, is it worth it to be a member? Well, that depends on if you are a devoted gamer. If so, then go for it. If not, then you should stick to F2P.

So, there’s your decision of whether to be a member or stay as a non-member.
