Runescape: Fishing with Fizzy Three
The final edition of my Runescape fishing series.
Earlier today, I did the quest on the development diary for free-to-play players. With the introduction of the Free-To-Play development diary, Fishermen (well, and other players) like me can attain a ring called the “Explorer Ring”. This ring allows a WHOPPING 3 stamina recoveries and a teleport to the cabbage patch at the South of Falador upon reaching the maximum level!
Why do we, the free-to-play fishermen, rejoice? Well the fact lies in that very ring I was talking about. The RING OF EXPLORATION (3)! This ring allows players to recharge their stamina by 50 per charge and renews everyday! The completed ring contains 3 charges, which add up to a total of 150 stamina power! This is equivalent to around 3 trips thru and fro Karumja Island and Draynor Village!
In addition to all the “IMBA” (imbalanced) benefits provided during this patch, this ring also gives an UNLIMITED teleportation skill to the cabbage patch south of Falador! This is the vital point about the reason why we, the poor free-to-play fisherman, should rejoice. This ring teleports us to this point shown in the picture:

Also, this ring provides a teleportation to this spot no matter where you are! Either you are in the stronghold of security, cornered in the wilderness with 1 hp, stuck at Crandor Island or Karumja Island; this loyal ring will provide you with an instant teleport (2-3 seconds) to the point mentioned in the picture! And yes, I did go all the way to the Fist of Guthix Arena and got myself teleported out.
This is the old table of values of the time taken for the average trip thru and fro Draynor Village and Karaumja Island:

*Given that each lobster fetches about 300gp.
Here is a route commonly taken by the fishermen whilst going to Karumja Island. Check out the new route planned by me!

Here is the return trip used by many in the past. Here is the new return route:

As you can see, the saved amounts of time add up to something like this:

Also consider the past route that we used to take thru and fro on Karumja Island:

Given that now we teleport once we have our full load…
All these are now equivalent to half an entire trip used by us in the past!
*Note: teleporting points

For us, the fishermen, in the future, we could now harvest twice the load at a faster rate. As the ring teleports us to the cabbage patch, which is directly halfway between Karumja Island and Draynor Village, we now have only to walk half the distance each time!
Also, with the teleportation from Karumja straight to this point, the extra 30 coins charge back to mainland will be deemed unnecessary ever again!
Also, with the new patch, the game has released a bug which allows the withdrawal of 1800 coins (or other items). If you have done you calculations correctly, this sum is a multiple of 30 (or 60). Therefore, we now do not require to type in the 4 digits every time we run out of money. Just right-click once and select the “withdraw 1800 coins”.
So in conclusion, with the implementation of the new Explorer Ring (3), Free-To-Play fishermen can now benefit with a spared average of 3 minutes per trip. Thus, high-level player may now have an average of 10 trips per hour!
If you find this article of mine commendable, please remember to post me a comment of thanks or at least an “I like This” if you find it too much of a Geek’s work. I will answer all of your questions on this topic on “Karumja and Draynor: Fishing”. Thanks.
*Let’s all pray that the teleportation skill remains unlimited though.*
