RuneScape: Fist of Guthix (Updated Version of Tactics and Uses)

If you haven’t read my earlier version for fist of guthix (FOG), I advise you to please read that before you read this passage. It would be confusing as it is a continuation from the earlier version.

Note that most of the tactics discussed here may earn you the name of noob. This is because it involves running and running is simply the best way to win in FOG. The following advice is only for players who are being hunted.

How to use the houses:

Teleporting into houses should be done with care. This is because you lose some charges as well as hp when you enter the house. Also make sure you stay in the houses for the shortest time possible. One trick is to stay in the house and not teleport. Your opponent thinking that you have teleported will run away to other houses. This way you will save time and earn lots of charges while your hunter is lost.

Also only teleport into the house when the hunter is about to attack you. This way you will maximise your charges and therefore a better chance at victory.

When to run away from the middle:

The hunted should run away from the middle when the hunter arrives within their sight. If the hunter is a lower level, then you can take your time. If the hunted is very weak compared to you, then dont bother running as it would do more harm than good. You can also take your time if you are using a prayer that defends against the opponent’s attacks. However on populated worlds, do not run away so fast as it will take ages for the hunted to find you in the middle.

When to enter the middle:

Enter the middle of the arena, only when you are sure that the hunter has left the middle. An exception is when the hunted is very weak in comparison to you. Also enter the middle of the arena when the hunter is chasing you from the edges, especially if they are using melee. But do not stay there, you will be tracked easily and killed quickly. Perhaps you should teleport through a house.

In the middle of the arena:

Make sure you are walking around in the dead centre of the arena where a lot of player stay. This way the hunter will find it difficult to find you.

How to defend against melee attacks:

Following is a list of what to do when you are attacked by a melee player.

use the protect from magic prayer (lvl 43 prayer)

run around houses

keep walking around a rock in the middle of the arena, the hunter will find it difficult to catch you, especially if they are a lower level.

How to defend agaisnt ranged attacks:

Following is a list of what to do when you are attacked by a ranged player.

use the protect from ranged prayer (lvl 40 prayer)

How to defend against mage attacks:

Following is a list of what to do when you are attacked by a mage player.

use the protect from mage prayer (lvl 37 prayer)

stay behind a house

wear dragonhide armour

And remember the key to success is running and staying close to the middle as much as possible.
