RuneScape: Guide to 99 Fishing

In Runescape Fishing is the skill of catching fish for food or to sell. The higher your fishing level is the faster you can gather fish and the better fish you can get. 99 Fishing can take a very long time to achieve and is one of the boring skills to train. But this skill has one of the best skill cape emotes in game and is a great looking cape too so it’s worth all the hard work.

From level 70 fishing the estimate amount of time it’ll take you to achieve 99 fishing is approximately 3 months if you do 3-4 hours fishing a day.

Below is the step by step guide you should follow to achieve your goal.

F2P:

• 1 – 15: Fish for shrimp. It’s the slowest way but the cheapest. I expect that when your level 1 you would be a low level character anyway so you won’t have so much money to spend.
• 15 – 20: Fish for anchovies and shrimp. They look like blue shrimps. The can usually be found along with shrimps.
• 20- 40: Use fly fishing west of barbarian village on the river. You can fish for trout until 30 and then catch trout and salmon to 40 
• 40 – 99: A long journey fishing for lobster to 99. This is the fastest possible fishing exp in F2P world so good luck. You will need to fish 144,414 lobsters to achieve 99 fishing.

Members:

• 1 – 40: Use the same as how F2P people would do it.
• Optional: 30- 99: Fish at Shilo village, this is the fastest exp in the game (50K exp an hour) and is an easy way to 99. Just not very profitable.
• 40 – 62: Fish lobsters all the way to level 62
• 62 – 99: (Must have completed Swan Song Quest) fish for Monkfish all the way to 99. This is very profitable and very fast exp. Never fish for sharks for exp. They’re slow and won’t get mcuh at all.
