RuneScape is Being Ruined by Pures
After the wilderness update and “PvP” pures are becoming more and more common, what are they doing wrong? Well read on to find out…
Now, if you are an up to date Runescape player you may know that the Bounty Hunter mini-game (if you call it that) has now moved into the Wilderness and with this action being made on top of the introduction of PvP worlds, pure accounts (people who create another account and only get up certain skills, normally excluding Defence) are not only becoming more and more common (Jagex recently boasted that over 20million accounts have been created on Runescape, however statistic’s show that this number is only this much because of people making second account) but also annoying to alot of people who fight in the wilderness with their first account.
Now don’t get me wrong, I can’t tell Jagex to ban “pures” it would be impossible, mistakes would be made and why should they?
But when pures constantly complain that people who prefer killing with their normal account that they are “def noobs” and a very popular comment made by pures to each other is “omg, safer noob” which I find pathetic as what they expect is for you to eat when your HP is below the 20 mark because they want to hit a 20 and go “wow, I own at this game”
Another problem is that they just fill up the PvP worlds with too much negativity, why can’t we all just use our normal accounts to Player Kill instead of making another one and constantly complaining to anyone who decides not to make another account?
I normally avoid the PvP worlds and Bounty worlds because I know the second I log in I’m going to get moaned at for wearing rune or not being able to take damage as often as I am hitting my foe.
Another problem with pures is that they are full of themselves, and when something doesn’t go their way, say switching a 2h to hit a high number, they will straight away call you a “def noob” I mean come one, it’s a skill isn’t it, we are supposed to get that up so that we don’t take so much damage, it just makes my PvP experience more frustrating and just not worth my time.
In conclusion, I’m not suggesting that Jagex should go on a manhunt for every pure ever created,which is just unfair and not the way forward, but I believe that pures should change their act a bit and realise that they aren’t the best for having a much higher combat skill than their total combat level, and also to let everyone play the game how they want and not make up rules such as eating below 20 hp only.

I would love to hear pures have thier say.
I am an accomplished pure-maker and I also have a good all-rounded main. I feel that a pure is basically just an optimization of the current system adopted by RuneScape. There is nothing wrong with pures, it’s the people who play pures that are nasty.

Hi NateDawg here , I agree Because i was actually on pvp an hour ago and went up against a range pure I was also using range and when i ate at about half hp he went “You noob no food unless you at really low health” (or somthing like that) then what happened was I kept on eating when I “wasn’t supposed to” and he decided to get all huffy and say things like “def noob!” when he didn’t hit and “your such a noob” when i was beating him. Eventually I beat him and he Private messaged me “def noob!! nooby nooby noob” I just find it silly and immature to say something like that. Also I agree with a comment above saying nothing is wrong with pures. Its just they want to win and just get too angry. Your articles are awsome!

Thanks for the descriptive comment NateDawg, always good to hear from people who has actually experienced a situation such as that, I normally get those kind of comments thrown at me by pures, I have also mentioned before that I forgot to mention that it\’s not the accounts themselves, just the people using them (most of them, some are actually nice) that annoy me.

yea i think alot of people over reacte in pking man…. its really dum they always say \”safer\” thats all u hear. i used to pk until i saw all these mage pures now its all these hybrids and str pures
I think pures is annoying as hell..
The game is not made for pures.
It’s ment top be played by going up in each skill.

lol, i once made one of those mage accounts with like 10 hp and 35 mage or w/e to cast fire bolt. anyway, he is always being called a safer because he has 10 hp and i have to eat like every time im hit
so yeah it gets annoying.
a lot of the people who have pures are completely up themselves, and i agree, they should let us fight however the hell we want.
Perhaps Jagex should revise the system to give players that advance all skills more benifits. Such as making defense more beneficial, but not benificial enough to have defense pures running around. -Oh, and improve the “13 and above” filter, I haven’t thought of a way to do that though. Perhaps make it less attractive to a more immature crowd?
Anyways, I agree that pure behavior can become very annoying.
Im kinda 50/50 on this yes i agree that its up to the layer to safe when there in battle they can play the game how ever they want but in the same respect dont pures deserve to play the game to its full potential? I mean changing the way stats are is just a slap in the face to all the people who worked for hours and hours trying to make them

Firstly, Jonny, you are another one of these people commenting (which is nice) but you aren’t giving anyone here an explanation for the whole “safing” thing apart from it’s “honour”
Next, in response to Andrew, making people who advance skills isn’t such a great idea because pures will then start to get up these skills.. also yes, they should improve the over 13 filter, too bad it isn’t possible at the moment apart from the “select your age” part.
And to solidguy, your comment is most respected but your last part about the pures playing to their full potential: I agree that they should, but I never said they couldn’t, I just don’t like their attitude to players who don’t wish to play their way.

One time i was pvping on my lvl 22 noob account then some pure attacked me he was ranging and i almost killed him but he took out a mith 2h and hit me i ate cuz i had 5 health and then after i ate he kept on hitting 0s and then he called me a big def noob, forever and i only had 16 defence it was so annoying but then he safed.
Whenever I go into the duel arena tons of the people there are pures that are a lower level than me, but when I duel them they have something like pure mage so they wasted me =(
You can often get mislead by pures.
Like, a few days ago I was at the duel arena, wandering about in search of a fight. So Ok, this guy who’s just 1 level over me comes and challenges me. Poooooof, he’s a str pure and comes and hits 9s and 8s. SO I eat. Then, when he only hits 0s cause of low att he says OMG U r a “def pure”. I say no mate, I’m trying to be pretty evenly balanced and I quickchat my skills. He catches on to the fact that my attack is 30 while everything else is around 22(hey, controlled is REALLY Bad, one at a time) and starts now, “att noob att noob noooooooob get outta here I’m reporting u for being a pure”:o
PURES ARE FOR PEOPLE WHO CANT PK ON THEIR MAIN, SO THEY MAKE A CHAR THAT THEY KNOW WILL PWN

I’m going to have to stop the author of this editorial right there. What was the point of this guide if all you’re doing is saying pures are ruining the game but you do not have any suggestions on how to stop them?
Players decide what the want to be when they join Runescape. If many of them want to be pures then I’m fine with that. This means more people to kill in the wilderness…Another 20 million to be exact.
I think pures are annoying solely for the fact that they eventually and sometimes indirectly force ppl who play on their main accs to counter them and make their own pures; it’s like a chain reaction! and a bad one at that

I would just like to say that nearly all pures i have met are pretty wierd, like they were saying sus comments like “i want to r8pe you”, “i want to sh*t down your throat and eat your sh*t as well”, yeah. Now im not saying that you can’t have your own opinion (hell, some people like that stuff) but do you have to be so damn sus (oh by the way sus means not right, just another aussie slang term)

Btw mate, i tottally agree with your comment of players being what they want to be. Thats the whole point of runescape. isnt it?
