RuneScape Jobs (F2p): Mining
A little bit of information on how to make money on runescape as a miner in Free to Play.
As most of us already know in Runescape, mining is most definitely amongst the most competitive working markets out there. For those of you that don’t know yet, try it, and you are most definitely sure to find out the hard way.Assuming that your mining level is in relevence to your combat level, or in other words if you mine to make money as you grow your stats and are able to wield better and more expensive armor, mining for income should keep you set for quite some time.
What Do I Need to Do to Be a Successful Miner?
In this game, a miner’s mind should revolve around two things… Optimism and Patience. Remember that there will be times when the job gets tough, especially at mining higher level rocks such as gold, but keep your head to the sky! A good miner will already accept the fact that there is always going to be somebody of a higher mining level, or with more luck for the day. But a better miner will remember that, and always carry the best pickaxe available.
What Should I Do About Upgrading My Pickaxe?
The first thing that I would do when it comes to upgrading to a better pickaxe is ALWAYS have enough money to buy the next level when you are about three levels away from it. Another thing is to know the market around you; If in the case that a pickaxe is in a scarcity on the Grand Exchange, then place an order for it right away so when you can use it, it may have already come. As soon as you are of minimum level requirements, upgrade to a new pickaxe!
When Should I Begin to Mine Higher Level Ores?
This question has an “either/or” type of answer, because you can either mine higher level ores immediately when capable, or either wait until you are of a higher mining level to do a more proficient job of it. Personally, up until I reach the gold level, I would immediately mine whatever I can as soon as possible, but things get a lot harder as you reacher more valuable ores and the competition of course only stiffens.
Where Should I Mine Ores?
Im pretty sure that this is the question that everyone has been waiting on me to answer, so lets get to it. Here is a list of the ores as I can best remember them available to free players and the best location(s) to find and mine them at:
- Tin: Anywhere basically, but if I had to choose one I’d say near the west varrock.
- Copper: Anywhere basically, but if I had to choose one I’d say near the east varrock.
- Iron: East Varrock if you are banking the ores, Al Kharid if you are smelting the ores.
- Silver: West Varrock or Falador mine, *Crafter’s Guild*
- Coal: Swamp lands behind Lumbridge
- Gold: *Crafter’s Guild*
- Mithril: Swamp lands behind Lumbridge
- Adamant: Swamp lands behind Lumbridge
- Rune: Karamja
The Crafters Guild
In reference to the list above’s mentioning of the Crafter’s Guild, it is probably the best mining area in Free to Play Runescape! Most of the average miners would think, “I need to make it into the mining guild,” but an exceptional miner searches all lands for work. The Crafter’s Guild contains 7 GOLD ORE ROCKS! Also, it is exclusive to few, since many people take crafting lightly in Free to Play simply because there is little money to be made in that trade/skill.
Well, thats all I have for now on this subject! Be on the look-out for more of my works on the jobs of Runescape! I think I’ll probably do something on either fishing or wood cutting next, but in the mean time, don’t be shy, and leave a comment telling me what you think about this article, and remember that any extra information is always welcome!
