RuneScape Jobs (F2p): Wood Cutting

This is the little bit of information that I know about woodcutting for a job in Runescape.

Woodcutting is a growing force in today’s Runescape market.  However, I do not recommend using it as your only source of income if this is going to be your first account; you should probably also take on another job on the side because you will probably not know what exactly to do with your money!  Just a personal warning in my opinion though…

Woodcutting is something like a bumpy graph that ends on a steep incline in free to play worlds.  You start of at low income, then you get the ability to cut more than one log from each tree.  Then you sacrifice a pay cut for extra experience (a long time dealing with this also), and then you are finally able to reach your ultimate goal of the big money makers.

Regular Trees
Start off cutting down regular trees to get logs until you are of efficient level to cut down oak trees.  This is the one part of leveling up that requires the most attention because after one log is received from a tree, it dies and does not respond too quickly.  However, surprisingly the logs actually sell for a decent amount for a lower level account.  If you are a low combat level player, then you can probably accept a job from the citizens of Lumbridge cutting trees and get a decent amount of money doing it, or you can always sell them at the Grand Exchange.  The best place to do this in my opinion is in the woods next to Lumbridge.

Oak Trees
Upon gaining the ability to cut Oak Trees, you learn to cut more than one log from all other trees excluding the regular and dead trees.  Oak logs might sell for a little bit more than regular logs, but the main thing now is that you can cut trees and watch T.V. at the same time now finally!  The best place to cut oak trees in a free to play world would probably be the West Varrock woods.

Willow Trees
Willow trees have to be the most worthless trees to have in the game…  The only good thing about them is that they give off good experience, because they sell for less than a regular log.  However, the experience is a substantial amount to receive per log, and these trees tend to stand longer than an Oak tree.  Make your choice as to whether you need money or experience.  None the less though, the best place to cut these trees would be at Draynor near the bank for quick and easy banking, but low level players should beware the Dark Wizards!

Yew Trees
Finally, we have arrived to the climax!  Whoever said that money does not grow on trees obviously has never cut a down a few logs of a Yew in Runescape!  At reaching level 60 in Woodcutting, you are finally able to cut down these trees, whose logs sell for a whole lot of money each.  The prices in the Grand Exchange are constantly changing due to the effects of Supply and Demand, but the Yews are almost guaranteedto stay at a constant, high price.  These trees grow all over the place, but my favorite places to cut them are in the Draynor woods and the Cabbage field near Draynor.

I hope that my little bit of information has helped you all out just a slight bit!  I know that this guide is not as good as my mining guide, but I have shared what I know.  If you have any extra information that you would like to add please do so in a comment, along with your own personal comments and opinions!  God Bless!
