RuneScape Membership… My Story

Ever since I was younger and started playing Runescape, I had always enjoyed the game.  It was fun to run around in the worlds meeting new people, making new friends, training, trading, and making money.  The game was easy to adapt to and to learn to play, and the setting wasn’t too violent at all.

Then one day, I heard about membership.  Around these days, I was playing with my cousin and we both had heard alot about it.  Leveling up attack, defence, range, etc. we could see that we were obviously missing out on all of the new and exciting items and weapons that member players could use.  So we decided that we would try it out.  Only one problem…  My mom said no, and his mom said yes.

My cousin began membership as a Runescape player, and I was left behind.  In about a week, he had become a millionaire with a combat level of 81 compared to my mere 40.  I knew from those days forward, that one day, I would become a member…

Now, about 12 days ago, my time has finally come, some 3 or 4 years later.  I am finally a member thanks much to my works on Triond and my local Gamestop stores.  I bought membership for myself and two of my high school buddies that used to play with me a little while ago.  But when I tried playing membership alone, it was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen on Runescape!  The players were very cruel and uncaring/unhelpful.  They often ignore you no matter what you say.  They just dont care!  And not to mention that the world is basically empty for the most part since all of the players are widespread throughout the full version of the map.

My final opinion on membership is that the extra stuff is pretty cool, but the whole membership is not worth it unless you have a friend that you will be able to play along with.  No ammount of extra equipment could ever make up for the loneliness of playing alone.
