Runescape Mining Guide
This is a guide to get from level 1 mining all the way to level 99!
First make a runescape account by going to runescape.com, then once you have made an account go through the tutorial and then once you are on the mainland of runescape look on a map to find your way to FALADOR and then go to the EAST BANK. Once you are at the east bank then ask someone to tell you where the dwarven mines are. And make sure you have a bronze pick axe.
0-20 level
Take your bronze pick axe and go into the dwarven mines. Then look for some tin. It is gray like in the tutorial. Weild your pick axe and then mine 28 of the tin ore. Now go back to the FALADOR EAST BANK. Bank all of your tin and go back to where you were in the mines. Now look for copper and mine 28 of that and bank it. Keep doing that until u have 500 of each then you will have at least level 20 mining.
21-30
At level 21 invest in a mithril pick axe and ask some high level players where to find nurmof the dwarf because he sells the different picks or buy one from another player. Now find some iron ore and mine that and bank it until you get lvl 30
31-60
I know its a long gap but it is well worth it. Find a good spot that you know where this is a good amount of iron rocks and mine there and just mine it and drop it (mine a full and then drop it: repeat). until level 60
61-85
You will now want to have a rune pick and be mining in the mining guild ( if you dont know where is then just ask) Now mine all the coal you can and keep banking it and repeating. This will take about 90k coal but don’t feel bad because once you get to lvl 70 it goes very very smoothly.
86-99
Congrats! you got to level 86 now just either mine coal or mine iron and drop it or mine rune ore for money and you could sell it for 10k-12k each ore! Thats 1.1m every 100 rune ore! Not that bad. Getting to level 99 is just so mining everything will be smoother so if you want to stop at 85 thats fine. Happy mining!
Tips
Smith all of the ore you got instead of dropping and you could be looking at a very very high smithing to go along with your high mining.

this guide dosent really help its kinda uncorrected/not-detailed , mining granite is the fastest way to 99
ur right about the smoothness of mining on lvl 70 i like this guide but i think u should make it only to 85. 85 is enough for anybody on runescape.

I just wanted to say that I think the best way to lv mining for a non member is to power mine iron. Also I think the best way for non mem miner lvs 40-60 is to mine gold(I mined 5000 gold and sold it for 2.5 mil, although it took me a very long time it was worth it in the end). Gold sells for about 490gp a ore.

Is there an easier way to drop iron rather than dropping each one by right clicking and pressing drop. Its easy to mine but takes for ever to drop XD

Indeed a basic guide, but very effective for f2p. If u want to have 99 mining, 2 things r only needed: Passion and determination. If u don’t have one of these things, then u won’t succeed at ur goal. Even if takes months 2 achieve it, but the payoff is really good. Nice guide ^^
Powermining iron is good, but if you have done lost tribe, go to mines in dorgeshuun caves under Lumbridge Castle. Theres loads of iron ore rocks here, and its usually empty, also you can sell your invo to Mistag for 350gp ish, so you dont have to spend time to drop it. Doing this I got from 38 to 50 mining in 2 hours

55-85
coal is a good idea. until lvl 60, just mine that. at lvl 60 mine mith (save dat coal!). if ur smith is lvl 50(and have the coal), make stuff for xp or sell otherwise. u can mine addy if u want but think about these things:
-the wildi mine is really far away from bank and
reverants/other monsters/especially reverants like eating addy ore(jokes… they like eating ppl with high mining lvls!)
-the mine in lumb swamp has only 3 hard addy rock,
it respawns reeaaaaaallllly slowly, but is less
dangerous (unless goblins pose a threat to u)
and is far away from bank
85+

This guide is straight forward, which is good. However, it could use more detail like some people have already stated.
To all you haters, nobody cares if you like the guide or not, if you don’t like it, you can do two things. One, shut the hell up and go away. Two, tell the maker how he can make the guide better.
To the people who pose as Zezima, QUIT! Zezima does not exist, he’s a character created by the makers of RS for two purposes maybe more.

I’ve calculated all the experiance gainage out from powermining iron. I’ve come up with the base calculation of 250 exp per minute.
(not literally) but its to calculate how long it will take to get how much exp u need.
(ex. “i need 10K exp to lvl(10K exp/250Exp per minute)
40 minutes of powermining iron needed for 10K exp
I play runescape every day for about 1hr and 45 Minutes a day I gain about 26.250 exp per day, if i nonstop powermine for the whole time period i get on. (never actually totally committed be4 but based on me doing it for an hr. thats how much i’d get)

Lol tbh this isn’t a very good guide. Ok for members the ideal way to train mining is to mine granite. it doesn’t matter what you do to get 45 mining, just matters that you do. personally what i did was i mined tin/copper in a populated members world so ores respawn quickly, once i got to 35 i went to desert and powermined sandstone. that took me an hour at max from 35-45. then from there on i mined granite. If you want a little bit of money to go along with you, bank the granite 500g, those are worth 1.1k ea and you can mine those faster then coal. The way you get to the granite mine: bring desert robes, 2-20 waterskins (4), dueling ring, pickaxe (prefferably rune) , 200gp , and lastly, shantay pass. go through shantay pass and take the magic carpet to the bedabin camp. once you are there, go directly south through the bandit camp. after you are through there you should run into a mountain/hill thing. circumnavigate that and you will end up at the granite mine. i will say it again, granite IS the fasest way to get 99 mining in the game known atm.

I got from 50 to 89 mining by powermining it is the best especially if u do it in dwarven mine. Theres a section on the fally area where you have 3 rocks together and by the time u mine 1 the other have respawned :O its amazing!!!!!!!

Actually this is pretty much straight up I don’t care who you are. It takes about 4-6 months to get 99 mining, and sometimes you can power mine Granite. But Iron is good to about 70, then hit the mining guild to 99.

This guide is bad see dwarven mines are dangerous for a lv 3 if they enter tru fally they will die 2 hit by kning scorpion at entrance wen i was lv 20 i almsot died myself i advice:
1-20 varrock west mine 500 tin 500 copper n bank at west varrock bank
20-41
iron ore at west varrock mine when u get 41 buy a rune pickaxe (if poor do knight sword quest enough xp to get u to melt iron bars and sell them in g.e until u get 20k for rune pick)
41-65
enter dwarven mines from dwarven village (safer no scorpions)mine iron rocks mine and drop (powerleveling) until u get 65
65-85
you can enter mining guild and ur level makes u a fast coal miner bank coal or mith at east falador bank (really close)
85-99
if mith ore is bad gold then mine addy or even rune ore for money if you stored all ores smelt them to 50 so you can make loads of gold selling mith bars at grand exchange

i have a great way to get your smithing up and another combat skill in f2p and it doesnt even cost a cent. i would tell it but if i did the prices of this specific item would go up and it wouldnt work.
Powermining is 100% the quickest way to get your mining up really quick, but at the expense of not gaining only cash.
ill give a clue for fast smithing xp…….the combat skill i get up is magic. one more clue… i buy 3 types of items to do this.
you do’t want to mine coal at level 30 it would take to long. At least get to level 40 before mining coal.
Okay, let me tell you this. It is virtually impossible to get 99 mining. It is one of the most ridiculosly hardest skils to level. If you guys are looking for something good to work on. Try cooking.
As mentioned above me, if your looking for a fast and cheap 99 stat try Cooking. Took me 10 days to get 99 cooking playing 4 hrs a day and cost me 5m.
But if u want to stick with mining I recommend doing this:
1-10: just do dorics quest itll give you about 1k mining xp.
10-20: Mine rune ess – its faster then mining tin or copper and the ore never runs out.
20-40: Mine iron ore. If you want the fast way, don’t bank it. But if you’re only doing mining for money, bank it.
From 40 onwards you have two options. Theres the ‘Money Making’ option, in which you just mine gold ore until level 60, from then you mine mithril, then addy at 75 then rune at 85. Doing this way is EXTREMELY slow but if you do this until 99 mining you will make hundreds of mills.
If you want the fast option, power-mine* granite if you’re member, or iron if your f2p. From 70 till 99 just power-mine granite if your member, or coal if your f2p.
My friend is level 53 with 99 mining and agility. It didn’t take him too long so its possible to get 99 mining but real boring:
TIPS:
If you’re member nd mining rune ore, I recommend the heroes guild. It’s safe and not in wildy but can be crowded. BUt u need to do a quest to enter which is quite hard. If you’re pure, mine rune ore at lvl 45 wildy while wearing a Forinthry bracelet. This will prevent revs from tele-blocking you, so then you can bank at the mage arena bank at about level 54 wildy.
*Power-mining is when you quickly mine a certain ore, and drop it as fast as possible. You could also give your ore to a noob level 3 or something, but the total amount of ore must be a maximum price of 5K due to trade limit!

k like you got a cool mining guide and all but you forgot to mention that other better miners will probably mine your rocks before you do.
so what i do is i start by mining ess (after rune mysteries quest) and do that till level 25 or so, then i go to tin and copper wich is much quicker this time around. then, youd get mining, and smithing xp from the bronze bars. after that i go to iron at around level 35 or 40, at least giving me a chance to get some ores. then you just mine your coal or siliver or whatever you do till you can get into the mining guild (level 60) then obviously go there. this is my best way of getting your mining level up quick, and you make some ok money for a low level miner. i dont know what the next step would be, considering the fact im only like 78 mining lol but this strategy helped me out and got my mining level up quick.
p.s i just made a new skiller account.. been working on mining for 2 hours now and im level 41 mining and 30 smithing :O proof my way works

OK, look this is ok…if you wanna wast ton’s of time playing! no 1-15 lumby/varrock copper/tin then drop. 15-30 iron. 30-60 power mine in desert. 60-70 this will feel like forever because its the worst part of the time mine coal in mining guild or go out side it and power mine iorn and instead of dropping go to party room and put in there its 75% faster. 70-85 mining guild and Addy bank this thought for its big profit each coal is 160 ea and addy is 1.2k. then you can do runete at 86 not 85 because it takes about a 2min to get it 86 like 1min or power mine or mine anything you want and you get like me. add me on runescape name: c o 2 3 y

this guide isnt horrible, im 72/85 mining, but i would suggest granite in the kharidian desert over anything, if you want money… coal till 70 then addy ores, and honestly 3M a week??????? thats slooooooowwwwww income compared to other methods makin an easy 2-7M in 2-3 days (10M or so a week) as for getting 99 mining theres no \’defined\’ way its kind-of what you feel like doing….

listen up yo im 99 mining with about 70M xp. I got 99 mining by mining about 5million tin ore. It only took 6 years and it was really fun so i recommend mining tin ore till 99 tis fasta dn i made about 50M so yeh i own u.

With that 5 million tin ore sell it and buy 2.5 million brown ore. and 2.5 million tin ore. then smelt 2.5milion bronse bars. this will take about 3 years. then smith 5 million brons plateboodies. thta takes about 1 year and then what u do is sell 5 million bronz bodeis in ge for about 90M then BAM u hav 99 smithing and mining andd it only took u 9 years. and u hav 90M.
99 herblor guide:
Yhe well i am also 99 herblore thank u very much. it took about 14 years but i achieved mey goal in the end. I ground all this sutff it a pestle and mortar. it cost 0 gp.

I fished about 6M shrimp took only 8 years. sold for aobut 40M
99 woodcutting guide:
Woodcutted oaks for about only 6 years. Didnt sell cus i was koed with them in wildy.
99 str guide
KIll chickens in lumby coop they only hit 0s and they easy took me 7 years to get 99 str and attack by doing thsi.

I have lvl 70 mining and I think dropping the ore is completly stupid. You lose so much money. By powermining you only get a skill cape. By mining and storing you get millions and get a skill cape. I just got lvl 70 today and plan to mine coal until 99. Anyone know how long it will take? yes forever but estimate plz.
this is a wary good guide i used it from 1-99 and now i am members and i am wary happy , but it never gives any tips what to use ore what you take on your trips that is the only thing that is needing

guys u should download axife mouse recorder and record u mining something and dropping it then click stop then hit play. it works right now im doing it lol happy 99 mining
first of all, does everyone commenting here spell like they are mentally retarded?
second of all, this guide sucks.It will take you probably half a year to a year to do it this way.
third of all, all those people who said it was good were probably the maker of the guide trying to advertise his guide to make it sound better.
here is a better guide than any that i have seen so far.
Level 1-25:As soon as you finish with tutorial island start and finish the Rune Mysteries quest. Wield the pickaxe you got from the tutorial island and click the little world button below the mini-map. Find Varrock on the map. You will be mining Rune Essence.Rune essence is always 5 experience per essence.
i would suggest the one near varrock east bank as the teleport to get there is just south of the bank.
Level 25:Time to buy a steel pick. Try to get 10 attack before this so that you can wield it.
Level 26-40(members) or Level 26-70(Free to play):Good job. You managed to mine something without exploding your small little head. Now go to the mining spot south of varrock’s west bank if you are a free to play, and if you are a member, got to falador west bank with at least 15 agility(i’m not sure what the real level is this is the agility level i had when i did this). For members the push for 99 mining will be alot easier. Free to play people just run south of the bank and mine the iron ore until a full pack(assuming your banking, if your powermining, doesn’t matter where you mine). Members run south of the west bank and jump over the low wall and run straight west until you find the mining place. For both just repeat until level 40(i would suggest music you like listening to in another tab as this will get very tedious).
Level 40(all): This is the time to invest in a rune pick.Try to get 40 attack before you do this because then you can wield the pickaxe and not have to worry about losing an ore every trip you make.
Level 41-70(members only):This is where members get more options than Free to play. You may begin to mine granite. Unfortunately i did not get my membership until past 70 so i do no know where to find a granite mine. Simply ask around until someone tells you or shows you(note that granite is not really worth banking but you can if you wish).
Level 71-90: This is where you will be entering the mining guild for the first time. Simply go to Falador east bank and the building south of it contains the mining guild(if you can’t figure it out, you go down the ladder). Here you will mine coal and mithril(if you wish) until you are level 90.
Level 90-99:Wow.Congratulations.Your actually successfull.Anyway, now you may quit if you like, as there is not much more to do than mining coal and adamant ore(if you like) until 99.
I would strongly suggest, on an end note, that you bank all ore as(even if your not smithing) it is an excellent source of profit, and from 47-59 mining i got around 315k from iron, coal, and mithril combined.
Finally, i would like to add, that YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BANK THE GEMS THAT YOU MINE(whether its from gem rocks or from random finding of them while mining).THIS IS A HUGE SOURCE OF PROFIT, AND THE GEMS I MINED FROM JUST 45-60 WERE WORTH ABOUT 30K(there were only about 10-15 of them, showing how much they are worth)

dont mine coal! take full inventory of water skins, leave room for ore. take carpet in alkharid to bedabian camp. run south to quarry. mine and drop granite. this is 100xp+ each rock! do it! its faster then mining coal!

A really lazy but fun way to get xp and also keep the ore is to buy up skill necklaces (4) and games necklaces so that when u mine coal at the guild, u don’t have to worry about wasting time banking. When u get an inventory full u just use games neck to teleport to barbarian outpost and deposit ur coal. Then, tele to guild with skills neck. It’s lazy, but it saves time and u don’t waste much money because uncharged skills neck sells for almost as much as fully charged. And let’s face it, a major discouragement to us is knowing we have to walk all the way to the bank and then come back. Teleporting is more fun and also leaves u less tired.

Aiit this guid is the bare bones for mining.. not something i would follow to 99. it takes me 30-35 hours to get 1k rune ores. if i were to get only rune ore till 99 it would take me approx 1.9 to 2.2 million hours (thats 64000 ores). this is an unrealistic guide thats for sure. best way is mining granite in members with a morphic pick (around 100k exp p/h(rune ore is around 3.5k exp per hour))
Peeps that say your getting 99 mining in 3 weeks is bs, and you make much more than 3m a week lol, get your facts right!

everybody needs to stop complaining and just play the game it is ment for you to have fun . not to keep complaining about that mining takes to long deal with the game they make the game hard so it takes a while to get lvl 99 mining they dont make the game easy. if everybody had lvl 99 mining then there would be no point of playing the game because then everyobody could have 99 mining and then everybody who dosnt have lvl 99 never will get it because lvl 99’s just take all the ores

Powermining iron is nowhere near 70 hours. I am currently 98 and it has been 200 hours. 170 of which were mining in the Living Rock Caverns.
