RuneScape – My First 99 and How to Get 99
This is an article about my first 99 in Runescape.
Introduction
Almost everyone in Runescape wants to get a 99 in a skill. Whether it is for something like PKing or for the skill cape, it is just so fun reaching level 99 in a skill in Runescape.
My First 99
My first 99 in Runescape was strength. I achieved it all in F2P too. Many others like me had strength for their first level 99 skill. I got 99 strength because I wanted to be one of the best Pkers. I now also have 97 Defence with 60 Attack. I am very good at PKing and I barely lose. The joy of getting 99 in a skill is that you become equal with everyone who has 99 in that skill. A player with 200 Million Exp is the same as a player with 14 Million Exp. You also get the neat Skill Cape. Untrimmed if it’s your first cape and trimmed if its your second,third… etc.
How to Get 99
To get a 99 in any skill, you must commit to it. I’ve seen many people training a skill to 99 but then take ‘breaks’ after a while. You shouldn’t do this, you should commit and always train so you can reach your goal. While getting 99 strength, I can assure you I have not gotten 1 Exp in any other skill(except for HP of course). If you commit to a task like that, you will reach your goal much more faster. Also set an objective in the Objective Panel so that you can set a target for each day (for example, 2% a day).
Tips
These are some tips I can give you to ensure that you reach your goal.
- Don’t get distracted.
- Don’t do any events and don’t go out testing every update unless its 100% necessary.
- Turn all chats off. Don’t talk to people.
- Don’t leave training because someone starts calling you a ‘NOOB’, ignore them.
Conclusion
Also have a 99 party for fun. Record and invite all your friends. Also don’t go bragging to everyone about your 99. You can say “Hey, I just got 99 defense!” but not “OMG, I just reached 99 strength, too good for you!!!”
Use these tips and you too can get your first 99 skill.

Very nice, how long it takes for you to get to level 99 Strength?
I also wanted to get to level 99 Firemaking. I’ve calculated it and it’s actually only takes about 50 hours if using willow logs.

It took me about….I would say a month. Playing a lot every day.

how much did you play a day would you say??
I played about 8 hours a day. About 10-12 on weekends.
Took me ages and I had to train without talking or wasting time but I got there.
