RuneScape Power-Leveling Guide

Money not enough? Want fast exp? Then this is the guide for you.

Power-leveling is simple: The most experience in the least time. Sometimes, power-leveling is expensive, other times its time-consuming, but regardless of the cost, power-leveling takes lots of persistence and dedication. In this guide, i will attempt to list some of the power-leveling strategies that I have come across myself. I may not have a course of action for every skill and every level, but I will try to steer you in the right direction. These power-leveling techniques might require a higher skill level than you have, which means before that level, there’s not such a useful technique. For most skills, using sacred clay items increase the amount of exp gained in each method.

Magic

The fastest and most expensive way to level is to use the highest level teleport spell over and over again (Home Teleport doesn’t count). A more popular method is high alching(high alchemy spell). Find an item that will get you closest to coming out even by subtracting the cost of the item and the nature rune from the high alchemy price. The closer you get, the less expensive it will be. If you make the item then you can make quite a profit.

Mining

This technique requires no money at all. The only thing it requires is time and lots of clicking. Firstly, find 2 or 3 iron ore rocks that can be mined from 1 spot. Make sure there isn’t another person already there. Now, this might take a little practice, but what you want to do is mine every rock and drop the ores before they return. This is the fastest way to level mining until level 90 mining. At that point, mine coal in the mining guild.

Smithing

For members, the use of goldsmith gauntlets from the Family Crest quest while smithing gold bars is the fastest way to gain experience. For free players, smithing bars and making things out of it is the only way to level.

Fishing

The fastest way to gain experience is to fish trout and salmon. The best place to do so is in shilo village for p2p only(requires shilo village quest) because you can bank quickly. From there, you can drop the fish, bank them, or cook them.

Cooking

Cook the highest level fish you can. Cooking on the Lumbridge Cook’s range helps to not burn so much fish. For members, doing the Family Crest quest will give you steel gauntlets that you can get the cook brother to enchant, which makes you burn less fish.

Woodcutting

Cutting oaks and either dropping them, burning them or fletching them works the best until level 45 woodcutting. 45 woodcutting and on, cut willows instead. Members can do the Temple Trekking minigame to obtain lumberjack clothing that gives bonus woodcutting experience when cutting down trees. For members, cutting down choking ivy is faster and there is no need to drop logs as they don’t give you logs.

Firemaking

Burning the highest level logs is the obvious way to power-level firemaking. To help it go faster, members can do the All Fired Up minigame and get armor that gives bonus firemaking experience when burning logs.

Prayer

Just as simple as the firemaking and cooking guides. Bury the highest level bones you can. If money is an issue, members can use the ecto functus to maximize the amount of experience gained from one bone.

Attack, Strength, Defense, Hitpoints

For members, pest control is the fastest way to level the melee combat skills. There’s not such a distinct technique to use for free players.

Range

For members, using red chinchompas is the fastest way to level. This method may not be very money-efficient, but it definitely is the most exp-efficient. I haven’t tried it myself, but I hear that 250k exp an hour is normal. For free players, there’s not a prominent method.
