RuneScape Quest Guide: Ernest the Chicken

Items needed to complete the quest: Spade (obtained during the quest)

Start Point: Speak to Veronica outside of Draynor Manor.

Start the quest by speaking to Veronica outside of Draynor Manor. Her fiance Ernest went into the manor and has not returned. Tell her you will help find him and go inside the manor. Once your in the manor, head up the staircase just inside the doors. On the next floor take the spiral staircase up another level. On this floor you will find Professor Oddenstein (name fits him doesn’t it) and ask him about Ernest. He will say Ernest was helping him with an experiment and go turned into a chicken. Tell the Professor to turn him back and he will say gremblins stole three parts: an Oil Can, a Rubber Tube, and a Pressure Gauge from the machine and he will need you to find them. The first item to go for is the Oil Can. It is hidden in the basement. To get to the basement go down the stairs and head to the southwest corner of the manor. There will be a bookcase. It hides a secret door. Go through and head down the ladder. The basement is full of levers that you have to pull in a certain order. Pull the southern most lever and the eastern most lever and open the northeast door. Go past your lever your right and pull the lever in front of you and head through the southwest door then move through the south door. Pull the first two levers again then go through the northwest door, then the west door, and then the north door. Pull the two most northeastern levers and open the east door then continue through the next east door. Pull the lever I told you to pass and head back through the northwest door and then the west door. Go to the two most northeastern levers and pull the one to the north. Open the door to the east and then open the door to the south and then the next south door. Finally open the west door and grab the oil can (hope you could understand this). Now we will focus on the Rubber Tube. Head back to the floor on the ground level and head to the southeast corner of the manor grabbing a spade from the room. Go out the door in the back of the room and head around to the other side of the manor. You will find a pile of compost. Either search or use your spade on it and you will get a key. Go back inside and use the key on the small door behind the staircase. There will be a level 22 skeleton. Just run past and grab the Rubber Tube then run back out. Now the final item, the Pressure Gauge. Go upstairs one floor and head to the room south of the stairs and grab some fish food from the room. Head back downstairs and go to the small room next to the Kitchen and grab some poison. Head outside and use the poison on the fish food. Use the poisoned fish food on the fountain in the southwest corner of manor. You will get a message saying the fish have been killed (poor fishies) and search the fountain. You will find the Pressure Gauge. Go back to Professor Oddenstein and give hime the parts. He will thank you and turn Ernest back to normal (as normal as he can be). Ernest will be happy and reward you for your help. Quest Complete.
