RuneScape: The Secrets Behind Making a Machinima Video
Published by Masteropeter on October 11, 2009 in RuneScape
Always wanted to make a music video? Or just want to record your new skillcape or party hat? Then this is the most simple and straight forward guide that explains how to make a RuneScape machinima video.
- Download A screen recorder – If you haven’t already got one, then you will need to download one. Basically a screen recorder films a section of your screen which you have selected. The most popular one is HyperCam2 by hyperonics, however it does come with a watermark on the top of every video (unless you are willing to pay for the premium upgrade). As an alternative I would recommend you download CamStudio as it is free, doesn’t add a water marks to your video and produces a better quality of footage.
- Decide what type of video you want to do - I would recommend you do something simple for your first video. Music videos are usually a good thing to start with as they are relatively easy to produce. If you are feeling more adventurous then you may want to try a short film or a comedy act. If you are still unsure on what you would like to film then I would recommend you look on Youtube for some inspiration!
- Preparation is the key to success- If done well, this bit will probably take longer than the actual filming itself however will greatly pay of in the quality of your video. The first thing to do is write a script, maybe get a hand with this as the more ideas the better. Now go location scouting, sometimes this can mean you have to try every pub in RuneScape to see which one is best suited, other times it can be wandering around the whole RuneScape in search of that ideal place. Leave no stone unturned!
- Filming and editing – When filming, take 2-3 shots of every scene, even if it was prefect the first time. Quite often another player walks past, talking in the background, which you don’t notice while filming. Keep all the stuff you needed to use for filming and be prepared to re-shot some screens later after you have spotted something while editing them.
Once you have done all that then upload your video to Youtube, sit back and relax. Do read any constructive comments and use them to improve your next video. And most importantly, have tons of fun!

Thanks for the tips this helps my friends, comment back thanks have a nice day!
