RuneScape – Training Prayer Via The Chaos Temple (F2P)

Training Prayer in Runescape for F2Pers can be very tiring and annoying, and very expensive for power levelers, because of many reasons. Bones only give 4.5 experience, and at very high levels, this amount of experience is tiny compared to the amount of experience you need to level up, and also compared tiny compared to the amount of experience you get from doing other skills. Big bones are expensive and hard to get, and still give a small amount of experience compared to the amount you need. Also, F2Pers can only get a maximum of 15 experience per bone (big bones), excluding ancient bones (quest reward, 200 exp each), while P2Pers can bury bones that give much more experience.

Collecting bones or big bones by killing monsters is also very tiring, and takes a long time, and gives unwanted experience to pures. It also takes money to buy the food needed to heal yourself when fighting the monsters.

That’s why you should utilize the Chaos Temple, a temple located in mid-level Wilderness (level 11-13). At the Chaos Temple, there are 4 bone spawns outside of the temple, and about 10 or 11 inside the temple. You can pick up the bones inside (the ones on the outside aren’t as safe to get, and also they take longer to get, because they’re on the outside), and bury them. If you do it correctly, you should be able to pick up all the bones and bury them before the respawn again. This provides fast and free Prayer experience for you.

However, there’s some risks involved in doing this. Rarely, Revenants may spawn inside the temple, in front of the altar or at the entrance of the temple. The Revenants range from fairly weak to very strong.

Also, at the little piece of land that connects the island the temple is on to the rest of the Wilderness, magma rocks from the nearby Wilderness volcano continuously fall there, and if you get hit by one, you will take some damage.

Next, since the temple is in Level 11-13 Wilderness, you may be attacked on the way there by many varieties of Revenants. Lastly, if you’re on a Bounty World or PvP world, you may be killed by other players while you’re there, so always stay on a regular world.

Getting to the Chaos Temple is very easy. Just go north of the east Varrock bank, and travel north until you see a little cave; the Fist of Guthix lobby. Next, go north some more, and follow the magma river north until you see a little strip of land where rocks keep falling. Run past the rocks, and you should see the altar, and Simon, a cape seller.

If you don’t see it, open up the world map and place the marker on the temple by double-clicking on the map. Then, close the map, and follow the blinking blue arrow on your minimap to the temple. Also, you can look at the map below.
