RuneScape vs.. WoW

I’m going to settle the difference between WoW and Runescape once and for all!

GRAPHICS

WoW’s graphics are great. Everything looks great and the textures are fairly good. Enemies look crisp and clear and the game runs quite smoothly overall. The ground looks great and theirs a great variety of environments. Theirs anything from rich, grassy forests to harsh deserts and even snow-capped cities.

Runescapes’ graphics have increased tremendously over time and they do look quite good. Though they’re not as ‘fleshy’ as WoW, they’re still crisp and if you’re a member you can play in full-screen just like Runescape. The variety of environments aren’t as vast but theirs still a wide variety. If you go underground you can find caves and dirt and the wilderness looks dark and evil which is great but the general environment is grassy and quite flat.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay in WoW is more about PvP rather then offline play. It’s great to play offline and do quest and level up but what most people do is level up offline and get straight into PvP.

In Runescape theres more of an emphasis on leveling up and gaining skills offline and not much on online play. The online play is great fun but you can see as soon as you start that most people just like to hang around and do little things rather then get stuck into big boss battles and group quests like in WoW.

COST

WoW costs $15 AUD which is a little pricey but still reasonable. You can’t play unless you pay the $15 monthly fee on WoW unless you play on private servers which aren’t really the actual game. The monthly fee isn’t inclusive of the actual cost of the game. You can get a small discount if you pay for a whole year in one go or something.

Runescape costs $10 AUD which is a fair price and I personally think you get more bang for your buck. You also get a small discount if you pay for a whole year. Although, you can play runescape for free but it’s VERY limited compared to member’s. Free play is still really great but eventually you stop at around level 50 or so unless you’re really addicted. If you’re a member though you have access to a lot more areas and you can learn a lot more skills. You even have servers devoted to members. There are also special quests and items which only members can get and sell.

Summary

In the end, WoW is a great game but personally, i think it’s hard to get into and mainly stresses on PvP but it’s still load of fun as long as you can pay the hefty bill.

Runescape doesn’t stress as much on ’story style’ progression and you’re free to do whatever you want from the start instead of having to follow the quests like WoW.

Please tell me which you think is better

Runescape is best no doubt. Especially since the G.E. but it kinda sucks that like only 12,000 people vote for old wildy and unlimited trade.

I think Runescape is better. The only think that attracts people to WOW is the graphics.

The author is incorrect about wow being a primarily pvp game. There are countless servers devoted non officially to both pvp and pve. Personally, the years I spent on wow were entirely devoted to raiding. Which in my opinion is far superior to pvp and more challenging at that. There are strategies and tactics required to play wow that are at best optional in runescape. Largest difference between the two games is certainly the average age of the user. Wow players must be capable of paying the monthly cost which greatly reduces the number of younger players. Runescape is free so naturally attracts more younglings, ultimately decreasing the maturity level and enjoyability of runescape. My two cents.

WoW is for certain the best game of all, considering the category, and especially against RuneScape! I played RuneScape when I was a kid and loved it but now hate it. Once you try out WoW and get the right kind of character you like, you will never go back. Start leveling it up and don’t be a freeloader or like try too make everything so easy, then you will love it. I think most people are too lazy to play WoW cause of the more buttons, LOL!. Anyhow could write a lot more but I am a BIG FAN OF WOW!!
