RuneScape: Why Can’t Jagex Release an Update on Time?

Does it annoy you how long you have to wait for an update or how some never materialize?

Jagex has never had good public relationships and as Halloween approaches there still no sign of when the Halloween event will be released, leaving many players wondering what Jagex are playing at. A new java based game code-named ‘Mechscape’ was meant to be released in the first quarter of this year by Jagex, yet as this year draws to the end there is still no sign of that being released either.

Understandably nobody wants poor content which is full of bugs but surely Jagex could keep players a little more informed on release dates. Sure it would be annoying if they stated that such an update would happen on such a date and they suddenly had to change it, but that would be better than waiting for phantom updates which never occur.

Updates which do occur usually happen on a Tuesday or possibly Wednesday. I assume Jagex staff come back to work on a Monday morning to stand around admiring whatever they have created last week, before then releasing it earlier on the next day. I also suppose like all good game designers, Jagex listens intently to what us players have to say on the forums before ignoring it completely and wasting their time on more unnecessary graphic updates. In many ways Jagex are like typical builders who somehow take an age to do the most simplest job which could be done in ten minutes. Is this really want you the customer wants?

Very good article and i hate how they don’t tell you when updates are and how it takes so long…It sucks.

I agree that Jagex sucks on releasing updates on time. It’s especially sucked on Mechscape, why announce it if it still takes ages to be released.. that’s kinda stupid.

    Nice article with good point!
