RuneScape: Why is It So Addicting?
A few factors making RuneScape, a game we all love, so darn addicting.
- RuneScape as a simple MMORPG game.
You don’t need an expensive complex G19 keyboard, or a high tech, multi-buttoned mouse to play RuneScape, all you need is a bsic keybaord with arrow keys, and a basic mouse which can click. I don’t like games which need complex hardware to play.
- RuneScape as a difficulty MMORPG game.
Unlike other games, RuneScape is a rather hard game to max out everything. My friends who play Warcraft complain that it takes 2 months to reach the cap level, while I think of getting maxed out in all skills, or getting 138 in combat.
RuneScape makes WoW look like a walk in the park.
Although, the difficulty also provides a wide range of challenge and goals, the entertainment is also sustained throughout the game, differs if from other MMOs.
- RuneScape as a low requiremented MMORPG game.
Unlike other shooter games which require a specific grade of graphic card and processor, RuneScape can run on almost any OS, any graphic card and processor. I can even play it on the Windows 95 computer at my grandparent’s house!
- RuneScape as a community rich MMORPG game.
Other games have communities, sure yeah. But they lack the sense of matureness, the lack of grammar and punctuations. But RuneScape however, is unique, the vast amount of fansites stands out among other MMOs, we have fansites like RuneHQ, Zybez, Tip.It and Sals.
Take Maple Story for an example, you start playing in that server, you only interact with people in that server, in RuneScape, you can commnunicate with people from 200 over servers.
Much better.
- Ability to switch servers
Compare Maple Story and Runescape. Enough said here.
- Runescape as a cheap or free MMORPG game.
Each month of membership only costs $7.99, cheap. Assuming your parents are stopping you from getting membership, you can still play the game. Unlike ‘World of Warcraft’, without subscription, you’re restricted from talking, trading, walking and 98941645 other restrictions. While here, we’ve got a few maxed out FTP players who haven’t paid anything at all, ever.
- RuneScape as an limitless content MMORPG game.
Even after finishing all the quests, maxed all the skills, archeived the hardest goals, I’ve counted over 100 things to do in this game. Most other RPGS have one endless cycle of two steps:
1. omigosh kill da monsta
2- omigosh kill da playa
3- Repeat until you hit the maximum level possible, then do 2 until you quit game.

Good read, I don’t have any experiance with PC gaming but this sounds like it would be fun.
Thanks, I hope this was really worth your time reading.
Good read indeed.
Good job, these are great reasons why RuneScape is actually fun for longer than 2 months.
