RuneScape Woodcutting Guide for Newbies and Pures
A simple and efficient guide to woodcutting for all newbies and pures.
So you’ve just gotten off the tutorial island and that Survival Expert really got you interested in that one skill, woodcutting. So you’re there, stuck in Lumbridge, eagerly wielding a bronze woodcutting axe in one hand yet clueless as to where to go. Well my first suggestion is that you head in northern Lumbridge, south of a Furnace. There you can proceed to speaking the Wilfred, the Woodcutting Tutor, recognizable by his orange skill cape, checkered shirt and unique silver hatchet. Ask him to teach you the basics of Woodcutting and Firemaking.
1 – 20 Woodcutting
Now that you know the all there really is to know about woodcutting, head on over to the closest area and you’ll be bound to find a tree. However, if you aren’t able to find any go towards the general store of Lumbridge and you’ll see a brown path on the map. Follow it and you’ll eventually see that you are surrounded by trees. Click on them to cut them down and sooner or later you’ll have a full inventory. Once you have a full inventory keep on going up and you’ll find a dollar sign on your map. Go to it and you’ll be able to bank all your logs. Proceed to doing this until level 14 woodcutting.
21 – 35 Woodcutting
Now that you have a large quantity of normal logs in your bank and you feel satisfied with yourself, sell them. You should be able to get more than 400gp from selling them. If you’ve successfully managed to get 400gp head on over to Bob’s Axe Store in Lumbridge (near the Castle) and buy an Iron Axe, you’ll find this to be more efficient for woodcutting.
Once you’ve got your Iron Axe head back to Draynor bank. Look behind the bankers and you’ll see some trees. Click on that area on your map. You’ll find a ton of willow trees, do not cut these though. Continue down and you’ll see four oak trees. Chop those down and keep on banking them once you have a full inventory. In time you’ll see that your bank will be filled with them. Once you achieve the 35 woodcutting level, stop cutting them. Sell them all for around 30gp each and buy a full set of iron armor for 1,000 gp. Go train your attack up to 6 and defense up to 5 then buy either a black axe from somebody or a steel axe at Bob’s Axe Store in Lumbridge.
36 – 75 Woodcutting
This part may seem like the hardest but you’ll see that as your level gets higher so will the rate that you are getting logs at. Head to those willows you were seeing near the oaks and keep on cutting them. If you feel that you are getting them at a very slow rate change worlds or cut about 200 willows, sell them and buy a steel armor set. Train your attack up to 21 and then go cut another 50 willows with your steel axe. Sell those and buy a mithril axe from someone. Continue cutting your willows until level 75 woodcutting, this will take a while but if you sell those willows you’ll see it is a good way of making money.
75+ Woodcutting
Finally, you’ve reached the ‘major league’ in woodcutting. However a mithril axe will not get you far in this stage, go raise your attack to 40 with whatever armor you want to buy and get yourself a rune axe for 20,000 gp (666 willow logs.) Now you’re ready to cut. Ask someone for the directions to Edgeville (if you do not know where it is already) and then go towards that familiar dollar sign, the bank. From there go to the right in a small building full of coffins. Go near the ladder but do not go down, in that same area you should see a door. Open it and you’ve hit the jackpot, yew logs. Keep on cutting these for as long as you want and this will be a good way of getting money. You can eventually get members and proceed to magics whenever you want.
Good luck on cutting and remember, this is one of the easiest skills to level. So prepare yourself for harder tasks as you advance in other skills.

ok im level 3 and i have 99wood cutting with 5mill by selling magic logs for 1k each in members world but in free world you can sell them for 10k each to high level players who are freeplayers

Hey, I’ve heard people recommend cutting willows until 75. I wouldn’t really know if it’s effective considering I never used that technique but I based my guide on what I heard.
is there any macros on website to use on rs?

If you cut willows at draynor it’s alot faster, since the bank is closer. I think you should change that in your guide. Other then that it was good.
Cutting willows in Rimmington and burning them there worked great for me while I was f2p, there are barely any autoers there since they only want money.
this is NOT an easy skill, wod cutting takes alot of self discipline, I am lvl 84, and it has taken more than a year, and seriously, dont try this until you are higher level and have a steady income, because it dosnt realy make any money untill the 60’s

Hi, im a lvl 3 but i hav a main and i know this sounds crazy but by cutting oaks you actually get more ex. They get easy to cut as your level goes up and since its getting faster to cut them
your getting twice the ex you would be getting with the yews,and willows. -thanks =)

Skill_T0_99 is my name in the game go to my clan chat to talk to me when im on. also im a lvl 70 with 75 woodcutting.. I got in 5 days on willows from 30-75 so im going 75-95 on willows probaly. then at 95-99 ill go and cut a mixture of willows yews and mage logs then another 50k mage logs at lvl 99 for money so the best way to get 99 wc will be — 30-99 on willows!
this guide is the best folo it trust me i got lvl 58 in 2 days from playing 2hrs a day imagine wat u could do on the holidays

i got 99 wc in 1 and a half weeks just by chopping oaks.
power cutting teaks is the fastest way to 99 as you can get 50-70k exp a hour,and willows are only about 45k a hour
Chopping yews earlier might help you to get more money so I would recommend chopping yews at about lv 65-70 instead. In addition, chopping yews behind Varrock Palace is very fast as there are three trees and they are beside the Grand Exchange

actually ur kinnda wrong because the willows at rimmington are better and plus there is bearly anybody and when u have a full inventory u can sell it at the general store
yoyoyoyo chill chill my name in rs is bennett fc1. i got 99 wc in about 1 month just by cutting willows from 70-99 so the guide is kinda wrong and if you are saying that im wrong try my guide noobs
Do willows from 30-35 then go to ape atoll become a monkey (no randoms so good for u). U wc teaks get a full inventory, then drop from top to bottom is fastest way.that’s if u want wcing instead of cash. It takes a total of about 190-235 hrs depends on how fast u can drop, but I get better at dropping. GL
There was some great statements and bad ones in this guide.First,you really should not cut willows from level 36-75.Instead you should actually cut them from level 35-62,63,64,or 65.Than start cutting yews.But the levels 1-20 and 20-35 were great but you should get a rune axe once your about level 41-45wc.But other than that its great.I know a lot about woodcutting because Ive player for about 2-4 years.An if you make more guides on any web and need help on the guide ask me because I’ve known so many good tactics for almost every stat and piking.But great job!Its a good guide.
