RuneScape: Woodcutting

A Runescape Guide from Begginer to expert on the Skill Woodcutting.

Levels 1-4

To begin your woodcutting journey, start by making a new account. Get you character all ready to go by naming him and making him look cool, then follow the instructions in the tutorial to kill the dragon. You have two options here. You can try to mine through an exit, or chop the wood through the exit. Choose to chop the wood, otherwise you will get to level 4 mining! Practice on what he tells you to cut until you are level 2 Woodcutting, then chop through the roots to freedom! Drop your roots, then give back his hatchet and climb up the ladder to end the tutorial. The reward from the Quest will put you at Level 4.

Levels 4-15

Not much to it here, just chop down normal trees until level 15. If you want to make money, bank the logs. If you want to get to 99 woodcutting as fast as possible, just power cut (Get a full inventory of logs, then drop them.) Whenever you can afford a new hatchet, just buy it. It will save you the trouble later.

Levels 15-30

You can now cut down oak trees! Do pretty much the same thing that you did with normal trees now, then level up all the way to level 30 woodcutting.

Levels 30-99

You have now unlocked the secret to getting to 99 woodcutting as fast as possible, Willows. Willow Logs are easy to chop, and give good experience. These will almost never sell on the Grand Exchange, so just drop them or sell them to the General Store. If you want to, you can start chopping Yews at Level 60. I recommend starting at level 70+ to chop at maximum velocity. There are only 21 Yews available in Free to Play Worlds, so You should really consider getting a membership. You definitely want to have a Rune Hatchet by now, so you can start rolling in the Logs! If you buy a runescape membership, then you can chop the absolute fastest experience for Woodcutting in the Game, Teak trees. Teak Trees are few are far between, but give lots of experience when cut (Even more than Willows)! Once you get to level 99 Woodcutting, you can still go a very long way! Get yourself a Woodcutting Skillcape for 99,000 gp (Nothing compared to the 2 mil for the members only Dragon Hatchet!). This will allow you to chop at level 100/99 woodcutting for a few minutes! After your reach level 99, you can still gain experience until you hit the 200 million experience barrier. You will not grow any levels, but it is very satisfying to know that you are the best you can possibly be at woodcutting! Good luck chopping those Logs!!!
