Runescape’s Four Main Changes

What are the differences?

A while ago:

Trading: Trading was a very popular back then. You could trade anything with no limits, although that is one of the reasons why so much scamming occured then. Since no limits were put up, many found its potential to be a great source of money.

Graphics: The graphics back then would have been terrible by today’s standards. There were many choppy movements made by characters, and the settings and backgrounds contained very little decorations and shadows, which made many glitches possible.

Money Making: Money Making back then was kind of hard, since training skills to high levels takes a while, and the Grand Exchange didn’t exist at the time, so we were stuck withe the General Store, which buys things from you in a cheap fashion.

Wilderness: North of Varrock used to be a noob graveyard, where high leveled players convinced lower leveled players to follow them, where they eventually get slaughtered. There were many people near the ditch that seperates safe and danger zones who fought eachother to death, with an occasional noob being killed.

Today:

Trading: Trading has become very limited, which caused many riots and quitting players. The limit is 10k worth of money, and Jagex is working hard to prevent scamming, which cost even more loss of appeal. Now there is a second confirmation window to make sure you’re not being scammed, and when the trade has been modified, there is an exclamation mark that shows the change.

Graphics: The graphics of the game has been changed greatly as there is now a new “High Quality Graphics” option at the new start menu. At first, only members were allowed to use it, but now everbody can use it, although some people may have problems with the compatibility. The new graphics now include great shadowing, smoother movement of characters, and ground decorations with great water graphics. Graphics are still adjustable for those in need of a lower quality gaming.

Money Making: Money making is easier with the Grand Exchange, now even people with only a mining level 1 can make 12k in one day! The Grand Exchange offers more better deals, higher prices, and a long variety of items. Many people have ditched the general store over the Grand Exchange, as the Grand Exchange has its own bank as well, which benefits people who hate running back and forth from banks to other places.

Wilderness: All of the new players’ nightmares about the wilderness is gone. The wilderness has been edited so that people cannot attack each other, which, again, lost much more appeal because of this. Although there is a place in the wilderness that contains a place where people can fight eachother, but many hate the pain of going through the wilderness just to get there. There are still very dangerous monsters such as revenant ghosts and demons, but they rarely appear now.

i really miss the older quality for runescape along with everything else :( now you HAVE to play with the normal quality which still looks like the high quality to me, with its similarities..and the reason i even PLAYED was because the lower quality wasnt as suckishly slow as the new one. I liked how everything was smaller, not taking up your entire freaking screen..
