Runescape’s Most Famous Players
This covers RuneScape’s most famous players, from the good to the evil.
This is merely a list of the most famous RuneScape players. I will try not to put my own opinion into it, as I would not like to introduce a biased tone to the article.
Zezima
Easily RuneScape’s most known player. He is such a prolific player because he was one of the first to achieve a level of 99 in every skill (except Summoning, before its introduction. For many years he was ranked #1 in RuneScape Hiscores. As of February 2009 he has 94 Summoning). But because of his relatively low Summoning level, it not only brings his Overall rank down a lot, but leaves his combat level at 137, not the maximum of 138. Zezima was one of the first famous RuneScape players, and has been playing since RuneScape Classic. His chat is always filled with many players, but most of them cannot talk because only Zezima’s friends can talk. Zezima is rarely in his own chat. He has 200 million (highest possible) experience in Cooking and Thieving and has 1.2 billion total experience, more than Kingduffy who has a much higher overall rank than him.
Kingduffy 1
Kingduffy became famous mostly because for a long time, he was ranked #1 Overall in RuneScape Hiscores, after the golden days of Zezima’s rank. Kingduffy is on quite often and in his chat, and I myself have met, traded, and spoke with him before. His chat has many people in it like Zezima’s, but everyone can talk in it, rendering it a more community-like place. Some people suspect that Kingduffy has become poor, because he seems to always be merchanting items like dragon medium helms for friendship (I myself am an eyewitness of this occuring). Duffy has the highest possible combat level of 138 and has 99 in every skill. He has 200 million experience in cooking, and over 1.1 billion total experience.
Tehnoobshow
Probably the most famous RuneScape player on YouTube. Tehnoobshow has extremely terrible stats compared to the other famous players with 99 skills. He is not even ranked in most skills. Tehnoobshow creates very popular YouTube videos, which are mainly comedic. He has his own site, and a horde of devout fans accompanying it.
Gertjaars
He is currently #1 overall in RuneScape. Gertjaars is level 138 with 99 in every skill. His chat is less crowded than that of Zezima or Kingduffy, and anyone is able to talk in it. Gertjaars is the only person with 200 million experience in four skills (crafting, firemaking, fletching, cooking) and has over 1.4 billion total experience.
Cursed You
He is now banned, famous for the world 111 massacre which happened on 6/6/06, ironically. Cursed You was later banned for RWT. What happened in the massacre was that Cursed You was having a 99 construction party. Many of his friends came, including some random people who just wanted to join the party. There were so many people in Cursed You’s POH (player-owned house) that it was lagging badly so Cursed You unexpectedly booted everyone from his home when there were people in his boxing ring. When the party attendants had been booted, about 10 found out they could attack anyone outside of the wilderness and recieve their items. Some of these people didn’t want to abuse the bug so they logged out or didn’t use it. Others used it to their advantage and PKed the most expensive items such as partyhats. One of the first people to be killed had dropped a white partyhat at death. The whole world went into panic when word spread of the massacre, and the most famous killer of them all was…
Durial321
Durial had a mod following him through Falador and the surrounding areas. The most expensive item he PKed was a green partyhat, and most of the pictures/videos of the massacre show him wearing it. Other items I know he wore were ahrims top and bottom and an abyssal whip. As far as I know, he wasn’t wearing a shield, but he may have worn an amulet, boots, etc. Durial became disconnected once, but soon after he logged back in and passed by Edgeville, Jagex Moderators had already caught on to his severe bug abuse, and i.p. banned him (I believe) , along with his account which is now permanently banned. All of the items that Durial PKed were never returned to their original owners, along with all other items PKed in the duration of the massacre. Durial was a rebellious legend against Jagex, and is adored by many. Durial321 actually made a new account (idk how i.p. ban works into this) named The Box Noob, and has said that he didn’t regret the massacre, and actually greatly enjoyed it. He claims to know many glitches/bugs that he keeps secret, and even said that if he were to stumble upon a massacre glitch like the 6/6/06 one, he’d gladly do it again, despite the consequences. He says that he is always trying to find out new glitches, and claims to currently be working on a plan to spark another massacre. On 8/8/08, a fake massacre in world 111 that’s purpose was to scare people away, but there really were no killers in this incident, and no massacre. The killings were simulated when players drank zammy brews, ate rock cakes, or dropped explosive potions to kill theirselves. Flowers were planted around the dead’s gravestones and players would simultaneously chant things like “RIP Durial”. There were many fake massacre mobs traveling around world 111, scaring away many players. The fake massacre was only a well coordinated event.

thank you so much. I’ve been tracking durial321/the box noob so long. This counts as: finding out where he stays on runescape.
entering his chat for leads, and finding out when the next massacre is. as far as I no it is on the 20/4/09. this means that in 3 days the massacre is coming. jagex knows and is running bug scans. did you know about the kandarin calamity? people were having a party in fremmenik and he crashed the party.

Wow! That’s some stunning info… never heard of the Kandarin Calamity =o I might research that… Or make an article on it? Anyways, I’d be happy to meet you ingame and learn some more stuff about this massacre… I was at the 6/6/06 one. Mad stuff.

Just to name a few… Overall you did capture the \”best\” players but anyone can get 200m experience in a skill. The most famous players in that list are Cursed You and Durial321 because they caused Runescape\’s largest glitch, the Falador Massacre.
As I said, many players have 200m experience in a skill. What makes them famous is their actions.
The people that should be on that list are:
Sixfeetunder- Caused Party Hat Glitch
Elvemage- Created a lure, caused the 14-Hour Riot, and is said to be the best pker apparently
all of you forgot maybe the most wanted by jagex,(but they could never ban me, because of a loophole that used to be in the rules)riverthief. he was the one that used an advanced method of packet injection between the host computer(players computer), and jagex’s server network.packet injection doesnt usually work because the host(player’s) computer was not “trusted”, and did not believe most of the information coming from it, until it was matched with the servers info.so me, and 40 other hackers went to work and eventually created a 24 hour window where any hack had a 99% successs rate.that basically means that we enabled cheats for runescape, and over 5 trillion gp was created by hackers that knew of the our exploits.not to mention the expensive items.all this happened on 05 may 2008.and this was partly responsible for a follow up/copycat of the magenta/pink partyhat dupe a few weeks later.and dont worry……
it will happen again.

I think this is a pretty good lost of those mega famous players, the infamous Durial, and Zezima, who is arguably the most famous player ever. I don’t think people should be put on the list for their experience, because too many people have that, but for their unique actions.
you forgot Darkmutt77. he isnt famous for skills or anything, but a lot of people have heard of him for his humor. He’s my friend, and is willing to allow almost anyone to be his friend too.
