Seven Simple Solutions to Your Money Woes on RuneScape: Part 1

So there are lots of ways to make money in Runescape, most of them are in Members. However, as a Non-Member, finding ways to make significant amounts of money can be quite hard. This guide will hopefully help with this problem.

Solution 1: Smelting Steel Bars

This method simply involves buying a number of iron ores and twice as many coal and then smelting them into bars in Al Karhid. Depending on the prices and your speed, this can earn over 60k per hour.

Before buying any ores make sure that the price will result in a profit by checking this page.

Below is a suggested inventory when smelting steel bars.

When you bank, by having a random object in your inventory you can first withdraw 9 iron (Through ‘Withdraw x) and then withdraw all coal. This will fill your inventory up and you will then be able to make 9 steel bars per inventory.

So if you do an average of four trips per 10 minutes, with a total of 24 trips in an hour, you will be smelting approximately 216 steel bars. This is a profit of around 60k an hour, as I mentioned earlier.

The thing that I like about this method is that it you can do other things while the smelting is occuring and are then notified by the ending of the smelting noise.

And the random object. That can be annnything you like, although something light is better.

Solution 2: Runecrafting Guild

Money can be made in the Runecrafting guild through the game ‘Great Orb Project’ (GOP). The guild requires level 50 Runecrafting to enter so it will require some training first. The official GOP world is World 61.

To make sure that you earn in GOP try and pick a team with high level players on it, especially those wearing the Runecrafting Robes (pictured below). It may be hard getting onto these teams, but it is better than going on the opposing team and being thrashed.

After the completion of each game you will win a varied number of tokens, from 60 – 750, depending on how your team performed. These tokens can be traded for items from Wizard Elriss. The best items to buy are Water Talismans, which cost around 5k and cost only 50 tokens.

This means that from each game you have the potential to earn around 75k per game, but only if your team wins all altars.

The problem with the game is that there is no set chance that you will win all altars. Your likelihood depends on how well you and your team perform. The solution to this is called 50-50 games and it is not uncommon to see a player advertising clan chats for one of these games.

The idea is that once there are at least 4 people in a clan chat, they will go to a random World and play the game there. The idea is that the players make the game a 3 altar all draw. This way they both receive the same amount of tokens, which provides a steady and fixed income.

Nice guide, Great Orb Project is great especially if you’re doing 50-50 or in a great team all the time. Each game takes approximately 10 minutes so you can earn up to 450K per hour.

Games actually take up to 15mins…because of all the time waiting in between altars…
