next will be mage!!

We’ll start with the basics; range can be a little bit annoying to train at first because you’ll 0’s often. It is a good idea to max out your range on tutorial island, which would be lvl (we’ll us this as short hand for level) 3. Once you get to the mainland you’ll need money. So instead of rushing off to blast rats or moss giants, let’s make some money.

Making Money Lvl 1-30(range)

Since you only need around 5k to get started chopping trees outside of the grand exchange is the quickest way to make money. However if your a long term investor and would like a bit more in your bank, then I recommend mining copper, and only copper! Why? It sells almost 3x as much as tin. Why? I have not a clue. Although the copper will take a bit more time running to the bank and back it will earn 3x as much money. Put it this 100 copper ore will get around 7.5k, 100 logs earns 2.3k. So mine around 250 copper ores, this will earn around 18-19k. Use this money to buy, leather body, chaps, boots gloves a bow, 500 IRON arrows, and as much herring (5hp) as you feel deemed necessary. Keep in mind until lvl 15 you won’t have much protection, (no walls from which you can shoot behind).

Training Lvl 1-15

From Lvl 1-15 my best suggestion would be to equip all your arrows, and have a full inventory of herring. Then make your journey all the way to Goblin Village, located west of Ice Mountain (refer to your map, by clicking the globe button during in-game play. The reason I send you here is because, one it is not over crowded. Two there is an abundance of goblins. Three goblins don’t hit very but have around 6 hp making them good experience for someone just getting started. Keep killing goblins until you reach lvl 15, don’t waste time going and buying an oak bow at lvl 10 just power through it.

Training lvl 15-40

Now that you’ve made it to lvl 15 go ahead and replenish your arrow supply, however you only have to buy a maximum of 200 iron arrows, also don’t worry about as much food you’ll only want to bring about 5 or 6 herring this time. The Stronghold of Security (located at the center of the Barbarian Village) is a great place train. Go through the first set of doors, then take the very next doors you see (they should be on the left when facing east). This will be the room you train in from lvl 15 to 40. Standing behind the fence you can safely range the lvl 12 Minotaur’s without taking damage. Also, another benefit to training on Minotaur’s is they drop iron arrows, therefore you can train non-stop for days on end if you like. Train here until lvl 40 range. Then go out and make some more money you’ll probably want 15k. You can now wear green d’hide chaps and vambs, depending on your defense; you can wear the body to. I trained a pure so there is no defense. Also you now use a maple bow hurray!

Training lvl 40-50

Deeper into the strong hold is more Minotaur’s these ones are lvl 27 so they provide even more experience. There is a gate with plenty of Minotaur’s on each side and I must warn you it takes a bit to keep your character from staying on his side of the fence, so bring some extra food (10-13 herring), you’ll understand when you get there.

Training lvl 50-65

At lvl 50 I strongly recommend going members however some of you don’t have that option. This is why I’m writing this. Moss Giants can be found in the Varrock sewer. Be sure to bring a knife, an anti-poison and some food. The Moss Giants are lvl 48, and can safely be ranged from behind cover. These are lower lvl monsters with a high HP making them ideal for pures and mains alike.

Training lvl 65+

Congratulations you have achieve quite a range for a free player. Back in the Stronghold of Security on the third lvl 69-83 Ankous; these have good drops however no safe place is provided to range them. Your best bet would be the safety dungeon also located in Barb. Village. Cockroach warriors and soldiers are great to train and have good drops.

Money Making Tips (F2P)

With a decent smithing and mining you can make steel bars in mass and make good profit if you buy the ores.

With the new PvP risking 25K could lead to some good drops off of player kills. (More soon in my PvP guide)

Rune crafting is a great way to make money 99 rune crafting equals around 400m, what’s to lose?

Cutting yew trees is great money each yew log sells for around 420gp each.

good guide but just remeber that instead of copper you could always mine clay which goes for around 100gp each so 250 clay = 25000 gp.:P
