The Falador Massacre

June 6th, 2006…aka 6/6/06…commonly known as “The day of the Devil”. And the day of the Devil it was. The heavens rained fire and the ground crumbled…people ran for their lives…many lost their valuable possessions…pkers ran wild…it was the day…of the Greatest glitch in Runescape history…The Falador Massacre…

The Falador massacre, the greatest glitch in Runescape history, happened on 6/6/06. It began when a player named cursed you, who had become the first player to achieve 99 construction, decided to host a house-party to celebrate this achievement. The news spread out like a forest fire, and soon there were thousands of people flooding his house.

The Fatal Mistake

However, there were so many people in his house that there was a hell of a lagg, as the system could not handle this much load. Cursed you became annoyed, and expelled everyone from his house. This was his biggest mistake. With so many people expelled at once, the server got overloaded and things got out of hand.

Dire Consequences

The server, overheated, could not take the load anymore…and bugs and glitches ran wild. One of these glitches gave Durial321, a level 117 pker, the ability to attack others without retaliation. About 20 others also found the same ability, some didn’t abuse it, but some, like durial321, took full advantage of it.

They went on a rampage, killing everyone in their path. The worst part was, it was on a member’s server, world 111, so people had a lot of expensive things with them. Some people who acted quickly caught the madness on tape, and it can be found on www.Youtube.com. The videos also show durial321 getting a green party hat, which was worth about 200m at that time. P.mods and J.mods were shouting and begging people to bank all their stuff and log out…but those who did not take their warning…suffered…

It is called the Falador Massacre because most of the killing took place in Falador, the city of the rich. The total worth lost was estimated to be over 5 Billion (500M). The victims never got their items back…

The problem was fixed within 15 minutes of the Glitch, but most of the damage had been done. Durial321 was on his way to varrock to cause even more chaos, but a J.mod caught him near barbarian village and gave him an IP Ban, so that he could not make any other account on his PC as well. However, he managed to make another account (don’t know how), named “the box noob”.

Durial321 became the player who caused the greatest glitch in the history of Runescape, and the biggest enemy of Jagex Ltd®…

Cursed you was not banned for this glitch because it was an accident…but he later got permanent ban for real world trading. Durial321 still spreads news (through “the box noob”) that he has discovered a new glitch, and it will be even worst than The Falador Massacre…Jagex® is currently running bug scans over and over again, but found nothing yet…so beware, you might be the next victim of the new Falador Massacre…
